The Firestorm shell was a special type of artillery shell, designed by Imperial scientists about 100 years after the Battle of Yavin. It contained large quantities of napalm, and upon impact would incinerate an entire area. It was especially effective against infantry, and only the toughest of armor could resist concentrated bombardment from Firestorm shells. Although they were usually associated with the AT-VA, they could be tailored for any artillery piece.
