The Finas (a Murese Sith word meaning "credit" or "coin"[1]) was the primary currency of the Third Predorate. The use of the currency originated in the circulation of silver and gold coins minted by the Murese city-states of the Murese Premodernity, a practice that continued into the Murese Modernity with the birth of the Third Predorate.

Unlike digital galactic currencies like the Galactic Credit Standard,[2] the Finas was a physical coin-based currency. Due to the metal-rich protoplanetary disk in which the worlds of the Five Deaths first accreted, the system's asteroids and planets were rife with deposits of dense metals like silver and gold, elements which were used in the production of Finas coins.

Traditionally, the Finas was minted in gold and adorned with the image of Murizas on the front and the Meseren on the back, though variations picturing famous Black Sith darithas and Rakata predors were occasionally introduced in limited circulation in commemoration of certain anniversaries.
