Niera Vallem was a Human female Moff of the Imperial Remnant, representing the Clacis sector.
Biography[]
Born on Arkanis, Niera Vallem enlisted at her homeworld's local Imperial academy and graduated at the top of her class. She went on to serve in the Imperial Navy for the duration of the Galactic Civil War but failed to make it far in the ranks due to her superiors' discriminating feelings towards women serving the Empire.
During the Battle of Jakku in 5 ABY, Vallem became the acting captain of the Star Destroyer she was stationed on when her commanding officer was killed by a New Republic fighter crashing into the bridge. After regaining control of the crippled Star Destroyer, Vallem managed to maneuver it away from the battle and was able to take it to a rendezvous point with the fleet of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who welcomed Vallem into his ranks and made her a full-fledged captain.
Vallem went on to serve in the Dark Empire of the reborn Emperor Palpatine before defecting to the Crimson Empire at the behest of Grand Admiral Thrawn. At the conclusion of the Imperial Sith War, Vallem was among the Imperials who turned against the Sith of Darth Vorath and joined the Imperial Remnant that rose to take the Crimson Empire's place. At some point before the Glorian War, Vallem was promoted to the rank of Moff and given command over the Clacis Sector Fleet as well as a seat on the Moff Council.
In 41 ABY, Vallem called for an evacuation of the Imperial Remnant's capital Bastion in response to a Glorian fleet appearing in the system. Before a consensus could be reached, Vallem and the rest of the Moffs were assassinated by Kylo Ren and his Knights of Ren.
