Cachria growing along the Tiaga River
Cachria was a plant that grew on the banks of the Tiaga River in the Amarai province on Epona.
Growth[]
Cachria plants could grow 4-5 meters in height, and featured clumps of stems that rose from a thick woody base stem. Each stem was topped by a cluster of thin feathery leaves.
As with many plants that grew in the Amarai province, they were sensitive to frost and thus had to be carefully tended to when brought out of Amarai's climate. Despite their lack of cold weather hardiness, Cachria was a popular plant in Eponian-style gardens both on Epona and on other planets where there were Eponian settlements, such as Lynsor, Balmorra. Some varieties of Cachria even boasted smaller growth sizes, making them ideal for smaller gardens and even potted arrangements.

Two main products came from Cachria plants.
Cachria bark tea[]
Cachria stalks were cut in mid to late autumn and laid out to dry. Then the outer bark was pulled or cut off and shredded. This bark was set out to dry further. The bark could then be steeped in hot water to make a flavorful tea.

Cachria spice[]
After the inner portion of the stalk was separated from the outer bark, it was either sliced into thin strips or smashed. The strips were packaged immediately to maintain their slightly moist state while the smashed stalk was allowed to dry completely. The dried stalk was ground into a powder. Both the strips and the powder were used often in Eponian cooking.
