Winter Celchu was a member of the Rebel Alliance Intelligence. When Mara Jade joined the organization shortly after the Battle of Endor, Winter befriended her and they became close allies.

Biography[]

A New Agent[]

Shortly after the Battle of Endor, when Winter was housed on Home One, a woman named Celina Marniss came aboard and joined Alliance Intelligence. Winter, seeing a damaged spirit in Celina, befriended her. Celina slowly began to open up to Winter, confessing that she had been an Imperial agent until she found out what Palpatine was really like. In turn, Winter confided in Celina that she was a native of Alderaan, and that the Empire had destroyed it as a mere test. Celina, enraged, stormed from Winter's room.

Mission to Gerrard V[]

Gerrard V, a planet where Rogue Squadron had once taken down an Imperial governor, contacted the Alliance for assistance shortly after they settled on Mon Calamari. They explained that, after the Battle of Endor, several Imperial Moffs had fled there and were holding the capitol city, Harazod, captive. Cracken, realizing the mission was too delicate for a full invasion, sent Celina, Winter, and Rogue Squadron to handle the mission. Celina, using the alias of Countess Claria of the Empire, smuggled Winter and her intelligence team onto the planet, while Rogue Squadron arrived disguised as freelance spacers. "Claria" met once with the leader of the Moffs, High Admiral Teradoc, while Winter set up a safehouse for the team in a hostel.

Removing her Claria disguise, Celina became a simple civilian on the street. She rendezvoused with Winter and Rogue Leader—Skywalker—in a local hostel to discuss strategy. Winter suggested infiltrating the palace and kidnapping Teradoc and several of the other Moffs, while Skywalker was in favor of a more subtle strategy, using the Force to trick the Moffs into leaving without conflict. However, Celina told them that the Moffs were too crafty to be influenced by the Force, so she reluctantly backed Winter's plan, knowing it would result in loss of life on the Alliance's side. For the next few days, the team did several plainclothes reconnaissance's of the palace. Winter was teamed up with a fellow Alderaanian named Tycho Celchu, who she quickly began to fall in love with.

Celina and Skywalker told the team they could disable the holocams around the palace while Winter and the others snuck in to grab the Moffs. However, there was still the problem of the Imperial guards outside the palace. Eventually, Celina decided to seduce one of the guards, while Luke disabled the holocams. When Celina took the guard out into an alley, Winter led the team inside. All was going well until a member of Rogue Squadron triggered a silent alarm. Winter, realizing they had been discovered, drew her blaster and led the team farther into the palace, killing the Imperials waiting inside. Luke Skywalker soon met up with them and their managed to escape and rendezvous with Celina, who had captured several Moffs, though Teradoc had escaped.

Wedding[]

After the Battle of Coruscant, having fallen in love with Tycho Celchu, Winter began an intimate relationship with the man, and the two were soon engaged. Winter's friends, Leia, Mirax Terrik, and Celine—who confessed that her true name was Mara Jade—threw her a wedding shower at one of Coruscant's top spas. Alone for several nights, Leia and Winter shared relationship advice with Mara, who had never been in a real romantic relationship before due to her service to the Empire. Mara, embarrassed, admitted that she did have feelings for Luke Skywalker, Leia's brother, and that she had also once had something of a crush on Wedge Antilles.

Mirax, for her part, confessed that she was in love with Corran Horn, a member of Rogue Squadron. Mara and Leia, knowing Corran was Force-sensitive, encouraged Mirax to get closer to Corran. Leaving the spa, the women stayed the night at a posh hostel, and the next morning went for a swim in the hostel's private wave pool, dressed in bikinis, before again donning their clothes and returning to their normal lives.

The next day was the wedding, with Leia, Mirax, and Mara as Winter's bridesmaids, Wedge Antilles as Tycho's best man, and Luke Skywalker, as a Jedi master, officiating the ceremony. Winter eagerly accepted Tycho as her husband, stating that theirs would be the legacy of Alderaan. After the wedding, they returned to their hostel and Winter conceived a child that very night.
