As Jedi, are we bound to duty or objective to it?
—Johun Othone

Johun Othone was a male Jedi Knight from the world of Sermeria who was born in 1,019 BBY. His parents were two farmers who owned one of the largest farms in the capital of Addolis. After his immediate family was killed by Sith in a raid on their farm, Johun was taken to the Jedi temple on Coruscant where he trained as a youngling for the short period of two years, nurturing his talent in Precognition a majority of the time. He was the first and only apprentice of revered Jedi Lord Lord Hoth, who died on Ruusan when he sacrificed himself in a bid to destroy the Sith. Johun's training was then taken up by Valenthyne Farfalla who ended up knighting him shortly after and placing him in charge of Chancellor Tarsus Valorum’s security detail.

After saving the Chancellor's life ten years after he was knighted, the Chancellor got his own personal security team and granted Othone a favor, the construction of a Jedi memorial on Ruusan. Johun was sent there to supervise its construction and would meet a vagrant who shared the same suspicions as Johun concerning the Sith and would take the vagrant to Coruscant in order for him to testify to the Council. Johun, along with four fellow Jedi, followed the vagrant Darovit to Tython after his cousin Zannah, apprentice to the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Bane , kidnapped him. Othone would be the only Jedi survivor of a duel that took place on Tython that begat the rivalry between him and Darth Zannah.

After losing a hand in the duel, Johun took an apprentice named Drevint Varsallas whom he trained in a period of seven years before the Padawan was Knighted and Othone received the rank of Jedi Master. Johun eventually joined the revived Jedi Covenant shortly thereafter, taking it upon himself to hunt down Darth Zannah and her protégé’s. Johun ended up taking a second apprentice, Aros Bena'en, whom he would also train in seven years, only to witness his death at the hands of Zannah. Othone tracked the Sith Lady to Kintan shortly after and killed her after a brutal duel, receiving career ending injuries in the process. Twenty years later, after serving on the Jedi Council for two decades, Johun perished defending younglings from a Sith attack at the Jedi Citadel at Koros Major alongside Tannis Venn, who also died in the attack.

Biography[]

Early life[]

OthoneFarm

The Othone Farm on Sermeria.

Johun was born to two farmers on the agriculturally rich world of Sermeria in the capital of Addolis in the year 1,019 BBY. He was born to two strong-valued parents and an older brother who was said to be protective of him. For nine years Othone grew in knowledge and in morals on his parent's farm until 1,010 BBY when tragedy struck. Sith Marauders attacked Sermeria, with the hopes of raiding the planet of all of its goods and money. The Sith were particularly attracted to Johun’s farm because of Othone's Force-sensitivity which was like a beacon for the Sith. Johun's parents were slaughtered before his eyes shortly after they told his older brother to take him and run. Othones’s brother grabbed him and escaped with him to a series of underground tunnels located beneath the farm.

The Sith tracked them there and ended up in the same tunnel that Johun and his brother were in, once again using Othone's sensitity to locate him. Othone's brother, in an act of selflessness attacked the Sith whole-heartedly, his effort to buy time for his younger brother. No matter how strong his efforts were, Johun's brother was no match for two Sith Lords and they struck him down.

Johun witnessed the entire thing. The Sith Lords caught up with Othone and grabbed him by the neck, in a chokehold and then held him up against the wall. The Sith Marauders somewhat awakened his latent Force abilities, allowing him to call out to nearby Jedi Tannis Venn inadvertently. Tannis arrived in the tunnel, easily dispatching the Sith Marauder Lords and carried Johun away to one of the Republic Gunships which had landed on Sermeria, carrying dozens of other Jedi and Republic troops to combat the Sith. Tannis summoned one of the evacuee ships to his location and the ship carried the two away to Coruscant. En route to Coruscant, Tannis offered Johun the chance to become a Jedi, telling him that he had the power to stop what had happened to his family from happening to another family. Johun, filled with grief and unable to fully comprehend what Tannis was saying, agreed and was taken to Coruscant were he was inaugurated into a youngling class.

For months Othone dedicated himself to learning the Jedi teachings, growing somewhat strong in the Force and developing exceptional talent with a lightsaber for a Youngling. However, Johun would discover early on that he held a particular talent in Force Clairvoyance, experiencing Force Visions and possessing Battle Precognition. Johun chose to postpone his lightsaber training, which was already up to par, in order for him to nurture his Clairvoyance abilities. For two years Othone strove to nurture these abilities and grow stronger in them. However, this left his lightsaber skills lacking, a fact that Johun was accepting of. It was this particular fact that sparked the revered Jedi Master Lord Hoth's interest in the young Jedi. Thus in 1,008 BBY, Hoth surprised the rest of the Order by choosing a Padawan who unlike him was stronger in the Force than he was in combat: Johun.

Padawan[]

For six years Hoth and Othone crusaded around the Outer Rim, doing missions for the Galactic Senate and the Jedi Council, becoming a famous pair who were feared by the Sith and Pirates who operated in the Outer rim until 1,002 BBY. The pair were called back to Coruscant, where Hoth was granted a commission as the commanding Jedi Lord of the Army of Light, the army of the Jedi during the war. Hoth, Johun, and the rest of the Army of Light were called to Ruusan to battle the Brotherhood of Darkness in the Third Battle of Ruusan.

In a tactic initiated by Hoth himself, the Army of Light converged on Ruusan in one man and two man fighters instead of combating the Sith fleet head on in Capital ships, in which they would possibly be decimated by the powerful Sith guns. This tactic allowed the Army of Light to easily bypass the Sith fleet while they took up time deploying their Sith fighters, previously not expecting to use them and having to spend long amounts of time on preparing the fighters and turbolasers as a result. The Army of Light laid down a barrage of fire on the Sith fleet, literally tearing holes in what had been a wall of defense. The Sith took heavy casualties, forcing them to have to retreat onto the planet to the Sith base, allowing for the Army of Light to rendezvous with the Republic Forces stationed on Ruusan. Shortly after arriving on Ruusan, Hoth went to work devising a strategy for disabling the Sith base's defenses, asking Othone to use his Clairvoyance to receive an answer from the Force as to any weaknesses in the encampment that they could exploit, even though they weren't fully depending on him as to the fact that they weren't sure about or confident in his abilities.

Johun, now able to call visions to himself at certain moments near-willingly, happily complied with his master’s wishes. Johun devised a plan involving Republic sharpshooters distracting the Sith troopers operating the turrets involving the Sharpshooters firing upon the troopers. In the chaos following this, Jedi Lord Gale and his force would sneak up from the rear of the western turrets , which were the most effective, and jam the turrets, causing them to explode which, according to Othone’s vision, would send shrapnel and debris flying at the eastern turrets, scattering the troopers operating them and giving Kiel Charny's force time to occupy the frontward space of the Sith encampment.

The plan worked, true to design. However, what Johun had been unable to derive from the vision was that one of the scraps of shrapnel would end up beheading Lord Gale who was in the process of dueling a Sith Lord. Othone heard this and, in an effort to make amends for Lord Gale's death, traveled to the Jedi base at the face of the Sith encampment to participate in the Sixth Battle of Ruusan, amid the protests of Hoth. Hoth grudgingly ceded to his apprentice and agreed to accompany him to the Jedi Base at the foot of the Sith encampment. Hoth would be forced to leave Pernicar in charge of the Jedi Command and Control post. Unbeknown to either of them, this would be the last time the pair of friends saw each other.

Johun combating Darth Bane on Ruusan.

Johun was surprised by the amount of devastation the Sith caused in just one technique and was initially fearful of the fact that he might possibly die in the coming battle. However Hoth, who had had similar thoughts before battle when he was younger, calmed his spirits. The battle began and Johun leapt into action, being separated from his Master early on. This would be Johun’s first hand-to-hand combat experience in the Ruusan Campaign and, despite his basic Niman skills, he killed or disabled at least three Sith, one of them being a Sith Lord. However, Johun would eventually be faced with the greatest of them all: Darth Bane. Johun thoughtlessly engaged Bane, whose technique was far superior to Johun's, even greater than Hoth's. Johun was forced to rely on his repertoire of blocks and parries just to stay alive, not being able to meet the Dark Lord's strength head on. Johun's Battle Precognition saved him many times during the duel and was possibly the only reason why Johun could even forge a passable defense against Bane. However, the Dark Lord also possessed an exceptional talent for Battle Precognition, which was much more matured than Johun's. Possibly out of disinterest or out of mercy, Bane disengaged Johun with a parting burst of Force lightning, destroying Othone's lightsaber and knocking him unconscious, nearly killing him if one of the active Jedi healers hadn't found his body convulsing on the ground.

While unconscious, Othone experienced a vision of a destructive Sith weapon that would drive not only the native animals crazy and kill dozens of Jedi, but also the entire Brotherhood of the Sith. He awoke to find that the Jedi had lost Kiel Charny to a defected Padawan Darovit and that Farfalla was preparing for a final strike on the Sith and that his forces needed Johun's powers to effectively rout the Sith forces and to completely and utterly destroy them. So, in an act of pure will and Force Strength, Johun called a vision to him with all the power he had and perceived of a vision which told him exactly where to strike and exactly which Jedi would be willing to go to the cave, a fully detailed vision. With Johun’s help, the Brotherhood of Darkness was all but destroyed except for a select few inside a cave. Johun directed them to this cave where Farfalla struck down Sith Lord Kopecz. Farfalla prepared to march into the cave but Johun stopped them, telling them that, per his visions, if they entered the cave, they all would die. After relaying all the details of the vision of the Thought Bomb to Farfalla and Hoth, Hoth and one-hundred other Jedi marched down to the cave to make sure that the Brotherhood died out, sacrificing their lives in the process.

The Sith detonated the Thought Bomb, killing both the remaining Sith and the detachment of Jedi Hoth had led to the cave and trapping their souls in the remains of the bomb, also driving the native wildlife crazy. Othone watched these proceedings from a safe distance and wept for his master and the lives that had been lost and swore upon his life that he would dedicate his life to exterminating the Sith and to ferreting out injustice in the galaxy. Following Hoth’s death, Farfalla took Johun as his Padawan and Johun went down to Ruusan from his ship the Fairwind to look for any wounded shortly thereafter, despite Farfalla's protests.

While Johun was on the planet, he met a company of mercenaries, claiming that after the explosion, they had had an encounter with a pale, bald, tall and imposing Sith who had spared them. This confirmed Johun’s suspicions and Othone tried to tell Farfalla of his vision and his suspicions, but they were all dismissed as grief and a wanting of vengeance. Thus for months, Farfalla trained with Johun to increase his lacking lightsaber skills which he did to a intermediate degree. In 1,000 BBY when Johun was 19 years old, Farfalla knighted him and assigned him to protecting the chancellor and being in charge of his security detail.

Jedi Knight[]

For 10 years Johun traveled with Chancellor Valorum, becoming well versed in politics and as a diplomat and being declared the Chancellor's "Jedi Adviser" since he was now well versed enough to help Tarsus and advise him in his political career, despite their age difference and Tarsus' being the one who taught him politics in the first place. However, Othone could predict the future and now had honed his clairvoyance to the point that he'd acquired the rare force ability which allowed him to perceive Shatterpoints. Because of this ability, Johun ensured that Tarsus' two terms as Chancellor were successful. Othone would accompany Tarsus to a diplomatic trip to Serenno in 980 BBY where Valorum was meant to meet with the Count of Serenno to discuss Serenno's political future. The meeting was successful until Tarsus and Johun turned to go back to Tarsus' transport. They were ambushed by members of the Anti-Republic Liberation Front who were trying to abduct the Chancellor and hold him prisoner to send a message to the Republic.

JohunJm

After a short duel, Johun easily dispatched the first three easily using Form VI but the fourth one, a Lethan Twi'Lek, was trained in an unknown weapon form, which was equal, or even possibly superior to Johun's Niman skills. The two fought to a standstill before two other Liberation Front members appeared and in what Johun thought would be his last acts, Johun gripped the two newcomers in the Force and hurled them over the safety railing and, when he found the Twi'Lek fiercely resistant to the Force, he grabbed him and flung them both over the rail. The Twi'Lek landed headfirst, dying instantly, while Johun landed in the lake below, cracking all but 2 ribs on the right side from impact. In an awe inspiring show of will, Othone climbed all the way back up the rock face, convincing Valorum to get a team of bodyguards and a larger and more efficient security detail, in response to Tarsus telling him that anything that was in his power to give, he'd give Johun for saving his life. Johun also requested a Jedi memorial be built on Ruusan to commemorate the lives lost there. Tarsus agreed to these boons.

Johun returned to Coruscant to the Jedi Temple and was addressed by the Jedi Council for his commissioning of a Jedi memorial. They told him that this act smacked of arrogance and grief, grief on his part that is. Johun refuted these claims, claiming that all deserved commemoration, not just Hoth. The Jedi Council simply told him that he should consult them before doing something of this multitude and they sent him to oversee the construction.

Mid-way into the Valley of the Jedi's completion, someone began sabotaging construction efforts. After a short investigation, he found the culprit preparing to sabotage some equipment. The vagrant ran and Othone gave chase and discovered that the vandal was indeed a Force-sensitive, and a trained one at that, for the culprit used the advanced force power Force Speed. Johun gave the vagrant the impression that he had ceased to pursue him and sank into the shadows and eventually tracked him to his hut. Johun discovered, through a short conversation, that the vagrant was none other than Darovit, the defector that had killed Kiel Charny. The vagrant expressed his regret and was eventually convinced by Johun to testify his encounter with the Sith after the Thought Bomb exploded. The two would acquire a transport off Ruusan and travel to Coruscant where Darovit discovered his cousin Rain, apprentice to the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Bane. Johun came back from a meeting with the Council over Darovit's testimony to find the hermit absent, having left with Rain, otherwise known as Zannah. Darovit contacted Othone in an effort to lead Johun and the other Jedi to Tython, where Darth Bane was stationed, in an old abandoned Sith fortress.

The Council decided to trust Johun's claims and sent Johun along with other Jedi-Jedi Weapons Master Raskta Lsu, her apprentice Sarro Xaj, and Valenthyne Farfalla. Johun was ready this time for, since they last time they dueled, Johun had developed a technique that allowed him to effectively block or confuse Bane's Battle Precognition. His lightsaber skills had also improved since the event on Serenno as Othone had began practicing Soresu with Shien mixed in here and there. This would be a different fight, was what Johun thought before seeing the armor Bane wore. They quickly engaged the Sith: Johun and Sarro on Zannah, Farfalla and Lsu on Bane with Worror providing assistance from the Force. For the most part, Sarro and Johun were both equal with Zannah in skill but couldn't penetrate her wall of defense. However, she began to get exhausted and underestimate them. Sarro began to take advantage of this and determined that Johun should use his special technique and engage Bane with the masters. Othone did exactly this and within a few moves, he scored a hit on Bane's wrist where he found an opening in the impenetrable armor, cutting through so far that Bane's wrist was hanging on by a weak strap of skin. Much to the surprise of the Jedi, the wrist healed itself, reconnecting with the rest with the rest of his arm.

However, this did nothing to abate Bane's anger as Bane ran toward Worror and slashed all of his throats simultaneously, killing him and then turning and killing Farfalla almost immediately, realizing that their skills were not as great now that the Battle Meditation had been eliminated. Raskta and Othone re-engaged Bane but had forgot about Zannah, who had killed Xaj and stabbed Lsu through her back, leaving her to writhe in agony on the floor in her final moments leaving Johun to engage both Sith alone. However, instead of both of them engaging him, Bane stood back and began to gather the Force in order for him to unleash his deadly Lightning on Johun while he engaged Zannah. Just as Bane unleashed his Sith lightning, a Force Shield enveloped him, incinerating him with his own lightning. While Othone searched for where the force Shield had originated from, Zannah took advantage of the situation and cut off Johun's left hand. She moved to kill him just as the shield dissipated, letting a stray bolt fly towards Johun who deflected it at Zannah, burning a hole through her shoulder, knocking her unconscious from shock long enough for Othone to escape with Darovit to the temple where Johun received a prosthetic replacement.

Taking a Padawan[]

The duel on Tython shocked Johun back into the fact that he would not live forever, meaning that if he died without taking a Padawan and teaching him the Clairvoyance techniques he had learned, his teachings would die with him. The duel also reawakened his burning passion to rid the galaxy of the Sith. Keeping both things in mind, Othone let the Force lead him to a Padawan named Drevint Varsallas, a powerful prospective Consular who was in need of direction. Drevint was strong in the Force, but not in the area of Clairvoyance like Johun. Drevint was powerful in the area of offensive Force powers, techniques Johun knew but was not proficient in. So Johun taught Drevint the basics of these powers and left the task of mastering the powers up to Drevint. Drevint studied each power intricately independent of Johun, impressing Johun greatly. Knowing that Drevint was powerful enough in the Force to use it as an offensive weapon, he knew that Drevint did not have the need to learn a lightsaber technique as much as Johun did so Johun taught Drevint Form VI.

DrevintCognus

Drevint Battling Darth Cognus on Yavin IV.

For three years Johun trained Drevint in uses of the Force, requesting for the Council to not assign them missions until Drevint was ready. When Drevint was 14, they went on their first mission. Knowing of Johun's fierce drive to hunt down the Sith, the Council assigned Othone and Drevint a long-term mission: to track down Darth Zannah and exterminate her. For four years Johun and Drevint went around the galaxy searching for Zannah. Othone came close to catching her on Vjun, where he found the body of Darth Bane, who she had killed and usurped. Eventually Johun and Drevint would encounter her on Yavin 4 in 976 BBY along with her Apprentice Darth Cognus, a Rattataki Female. Drevint engaged Cognus while Johun went for Zannah. Johun and Zannah fought a brutal fight, Johun tried with all his might to kill her. He even adapted to head butting her, pulling at her hair, even ripping her arm off with his bare hands and assistance from the Force. In retaliation, she sliced a portion of his left thigh from under him just as he plunged his lightsaber into her right kidney.

They both lay on the floor of the jungle, grievously injured. However, Johun’s dedication to kill her outweighed the pain of his injuries as he strained every fiber of his being towards dragging himself to her to end her life. Just as he was about to bring his lightsaber down on her prone form, Hoth’s Force Ghost appeared to him, telling him that he didn't need to do this and that he was doing this out of anger. Hoth also persuaded to leave the hunting of the Sith up to the younger generation. Johun, like so many times before, ceded to his master's will and left Zannah there to bleed on the floor. Othone summoned Drevint through the Force, telling him to leave Cognus and to come back to the ship. The two decided to return to Coruscant.

Jedi Master[]

Johun returned to Coruscant and shortly after the Jedi Healers had fitted him with a prosthetic thigh, he and Drevint were summoned to the Council. Johun watched as his Padawan was knighted and he was granted the title of Jedi Master. Once again, Johun’s dedication to exterminating the Sith would gain him attention. The agents of a newly re-formed Jedi Covenant inquired of Othone to join them and to help in hunting down scions of the Sith. He agreed and learned from the Covenant agents that Zannah had taken upon herself to train more than one apprentice, taking only one official one but spreading her knowledge through the galaxy. Johun would hunt down three of these apprentices and kill them for the Jedi Covenant before taking a second apprentice: Aros Bena'en.

Aros displayed the same talents Johun had for Clairvoyance, which was why Johun chose him. He was also good with a lightsaber and had cunning unmatched by any of the other apprentices. However, Johun would be gentler with Aros than he had been with Drevint. He would start off training Aros in the lightsaber arts for about two years and finally, when Aros was thirteen, Johun began to help him nurture his Clairvoyance abilities. Aros had a talent for Clairvoyance that Othone had never seen before, not even in himself. At thirteen, with help from Johun, Aros acquired the ability of Battle Premonition. Instead of teaching Aros head on, Johun prepared a curriculum for Aros to follow and set up scenarios for Aros to solve.

Even on missions, he would rely on Aros to assist him in completing the mission by telling him to use his powers to determine certain things and to predict outcomes. It took Johun a slightly longer amount of time to get Aros knighted as it had Drevint but Aros was more powerful than Drevint, factually, in both areas. After Aros was knighted, Othone was offered a seat on the Jedi Council in 969 BBY. Johun gladly accepted and was tasked with hunting down the rest of Zannah's unofficial apprentices by the Council. Aros would accompany him to Serenno where one of the leaders of the Five Great Houses of Serenno had usurped the title of Count from the proper heir by use of the Dark Side. The man's name was Hetton and was the leader of the Anti-Republic Liberation Front, which was, by then, defunct.

Johun and Aros fought through Hetton’s security force in time to make to the throne room where they found Hetton and Darth Zannah conversing, with Zannah preparing to depart. Othone engaged Zannah while Aros handled Hetton. Aros would sever Hetton's left hand before Zannah turned from Johun and beheaded Aros with one swipe of her lightsaber. Johun screamed in anger and gave chase chasing her all through the estate before being met by Darth Cognus at the exit that engaged Johun to buy time for Zannah to escape. Johun, using his anger as a drive for him to defeat Cognus, easily killed her, bisecting her after she swung at him and he sidestepped the blow. By the time Johun caught up with Zannah, She had prepared to leave the atmosphere. Johun commandeered a nearby shuttle and chased Zannah through space until she finally landed on Kintan in the Burning Plains sand dunes, as if to set a cinematic surrounding where she knew this rivalry would end.

Johun was savagely brutal with her, bludgeoning her with his hilt then stabbing her repeatedly in the same spot: her kidney where he had previously injured her years later. He even held her face in the burning sands for several seconds, disfiguring her for life. Zannah was taken aback by his savagery. He had been brutal last time but not to this degree. She replied, in kind, with a fierce volley of flurries and slashes before Johun gained the upper hand. She didn't had time to mount a defense before Othone, unexpectedly, grabbed her by her hair and leaned her back slowly impaling her on his blue blade, making sure that she felt it and would know who it was that killed her. Johun was in such a rage that he didn’t notice the several wounds she had inflicted on him. When Zannah lay dead in the sand, Johun realized hat he had done. He was surprised at how brutal he had been and repented to the Force on the way back to Coruscant before sinking into a healing trance.

It turned out that as a result of his grievous injuries, he would probably never go back into active service again unless the situation sorely demanded it. The end of his Crusade had come at last.

Death[]

For twenty years Othone served on the Jedi Council as an instructor in the temple, his Force Visions, which occured less occasionally after the duel as a result of him touching the dark side, giving him major insight in the rare times that he experienced them. While he could not engage in strenuous lightsaber aerobics, his ability to touch the Force had been only slightly affected. So Johun became the Jedi Temple's only Sage Master, teaching whole classes how to use Clairvoyance effectively. However, while he had settled into a peaceful life, there had been one thing that he had forgotten about.

The Jedi Council had set up a secret Training and Military facility for Jedi on the planet of Koros Major. Here they trained future Jedi soldiers and here was the Jedi's military core was located. It was from here that Jedi Generals would co-ordinate their forces and it was here that Younglings and Padawans were training in war tactics.

Zannah's unofficial apprentices had taken up the mantle of the Sith Empire since after Darth Cognus' death, there was no true heir to the throne. They were preparing to attack the Koros Major Base in 949 BBY after learning of it after one of their spies infiltrated it in the guise of a Jedi soldier. Johun rushed to Koros Major to defend it, much to the anger of the Council, as he saw it as being his fault that these darksiders were still alive.

In one massive attack, the unofficial Sith, Zannah's Sith as they called themselves assaulted the citadel. Many Jedi Masters had turned out to defend it but few actually knew of the exact location of the Citadel on the planet so many Jedi Masters ended up on the wrong side of the world. So Johun Othone ,Tannis Venn, and a force of 100 other Jedi Knights and Masters combined had came to defend the facility. The Sith proved to be true Sith Lords in all but name, slaughtering past the Jedi protecting the building quickly, leaving only Othone and Tannis to protect the younglings on the inside. Both of these old masters were more than a match for the Sith. Tannis blasted them and crushed them with the force while Johun use his Battle Premonition to maneuver himself so that he could make a Sith kill another Sith just by dodging, not drawing his lightsaber for fear of agitating his injuries.

A literal wall of bodies was erected between the entrance to the younglings hiding place and the Sith Lords. Preparing for a last stand, Tannis and Johun shepherded the Younglings through the secret tunnel escape system, just as Othone had as a child. When the Sith broke through the wall, Johun and Tannis Venn were said to be killing Sith by the dozens. Tannis Venn fell first, a result of drawing too heavily on the Force, Tannis' physical energy had been drained so he didn't have enough energy to avoid the multitude of lightsabers coming his way and was slashed to shreds, not dead yet but grievously injured. Johun, drawing on his feelings, his love of life, of the Jedi, and of everything he cherished began to call on the dark side, leashing bolts of Sith lightning even more powerful than Darth Bane was capable of summoning, feeling that the situation demanded it. Sith were falling left and right to his lightning but eventually, he too tired and slumped down on his knees, deformed from his use of the dark side.

Expecting to be killed instantly, the Sith simply bound him and held him down on his knees. Apparently they had been ordered to leave him alive. After a few minutes wait, in walked Hetton, Dark Lord of Zannah's Sith. He wanted the pleasure of personally executing the one that had killed the master of the Founders of Zannah's Sith which Hetton just happened to be one of. In one last act of selfless heroism, Johun escaped his bonds and, taking one of the Sith's lightsabers, threw himself at Hetton and the group of Sith gathered around him in an attempt to protect the wounded Tannis. While sucessful in injuring Hetton, Johun's injuries began to come into play and he could barely even stand by himself.

Relying heavily on the Force, Johun supported his weakening frame and initiated Force Speed and used it in conjunction with his Battle Precognition and ran at the oncoming Sith. At that exact moment, a quake rocked the building, sending the Sith scattering and providing the time for Johun to escape the building with Tannis' body only to have him meet Hetton outside of the building where the two dueled and Othone was cut down, only suceeding in scarring Hetton's eye. It was reported that later in the battle, Drevint Varsallas appeared with a fleet of Jedi Ships and decimated the rest of the Sith force, dedicating this battle to the memory of his Master, although Hetton was never found. It was said that this was the true end to the New Sith Wars and that after this last battle, the Republic entered its recovery age, a Golden age for the Jedi and Republic alike, an age that began in 949 BBY, the same year that Johun Othone died.

It was discovered after his death that the "Cognus" that he'd killed and that Drevint had faced on Yavin IV was an imposter and that the real Cognus had engineered the events at Koros Major, setting up Zannah's Sith and orchestrating the attack. This meant that sadly, Johun's crusade to end the Sith once and for all had failed.

Personality and traits[]

Johun was calm, centered, and humorous but when he did get emotional, his emotions were intense. This was evidenced by the fact that after Darth Zannah killed Aros Bena'en his former apprentice, he was pushed to the edge of insanity. Johun was also a very selfless individual, fighting only to serve the galaxy and with the best of his ability. He was one who took every advantage possible, as long as it was in good moral standing.

Othone was also caring but easily let go of his attachments, similar to Obi-Wan Kenobi, one might call Johun the ultimate Jedi. Othone was well versed in politics and sometimes resorted to using politics when speaking with Jedi to accomplish his ends. Johun had a determination that was unseen in the galaxy for years. He was said to be bold and headstrong, traits he picked up after his apprenticeship with Hoth. As a Padawan, Johun followed his Master's orders without question with the occasional exception, mostly during times of stress.

Johun had good morals, something he obtained from his childhood on his parents farm. He was a determined worker and very honest, wanting nothing more than to have a job and do his best at it. His personality left a lasting impression of him on the galaxy, as did his selfless sacrifice.

Powers and abilities[]

Johun Othone was a somewhat gifted Seer which is why he recieved visions almost willingly at certain moments similar to Darth Caedus. At first, his Seer skills dominated his training and he had forgot all about his lightsaber training, which left him lacking during the battles of Ruusan. While he was powerful in Seeing, he wasn't very powerful in the Force which stemmed to him being looked over many times by Jedi Masters when he was a Padawan. His skills would prove to be essential in the Ruusan Campaign.

Johun was also skilled in the use of Battle Premonition. While all Jedi and Sith experienced this power to some degree, only a select few experienced it like Johun did. His Battle Premonition allowed him to predict his enemies movements and kept him from harms way. His skill in this art was comparable to Darth Bane's, whom he dueled and survived only because of his Battle Premonition. However, when he duelled Darth Zannah for the second time on Yavin, he touched the dark side so extremely that his abilities in this area were severly diminished, so that the third time he fought her, he could barely use this art at all. The art returned to him in his twenty years of inactivity as a Jedi Councilor.

Early on in his Jedi life, Johun learned arguably the most basic of lightsaber styles, Niman, the Diplomatic form. His dedication to his Clairvoyance skills left him lacking in the area of lightsaber combat, which nearly attributed to his death at Tython, had his Battle Premonition not kicked in. After the duel, Johun began to train in Soresu, a style more fitted for Johun because of his patience. He would go on to master Soresu, utilizing it in his Duel with Darth Zannah on Kintan only to suffer injuries so enormous that the aerobics of Soresu, which wasn't much of an aerobic form, became to strenuous for him and he became inactive, only serving as a Councilor and serving to teach younglings.
