Two bounty hunters by the names of Siena and Helms go to Narlens, located on the planet Cerea, to find a Miralukan girl by the name of Aurea Hali. The two search and find the family, kill her parents and then chase her down. Helms is injured during the chase but Siena manages to capture the girl. As they are leaving Narlens they are stopped by an Imperial by the name of Echon Tarkin. Siena and Helms battle Echon before Echon shoots Helms and he falls to his death while Siena runs away. Siena returns to Narlens and recovers Helms' body before she goes off to complete her mission.

Behind the scenes
Failure at Cerea was written by Josh Bender from December 21 to December 22, 2007. The story was written to introduce the character of Aurea Hali to Josh and friend's Star Wars Roleplaying Game, Death Watch Revival. In March 2009, Josh attempted to remake the story but stopped after writing two pages. On October 8, while on #swfanon on IRC, Josh uncovered the original story and decided to rewrite it for the Fall 2009 short story contest that was going on. A week before release, Josh sought help from friends and family and finished on November 14, 2009.
