Exile's Snare is a fan fiction written by MPK as part of the Fate of the Lost Jedi series, set immediately after the events of Critical Points.

Following Darth Traya's death, the ascendant Dark Lord Meetra Surik must deal with the consequences when Atton Rand discovers that she deceived him and her entire crew.

Behind the scenes

Exile's Snare was written to fill in a number of characterization gaps that had been left in the ongoing Fate of the Lost Jedi series, mainly to do with the relationship between Atton Rand and Meetra Surik. On the side, the author hoped to make up for the absence of HK-47 in the previous story, Critical Points.

Meetra and Atton's argument in Part II parallels TSL's conversation path wherein he becomes a Dark Jedi, particularly her sowing doubt in his mind about the motives of the Jedi who "saved" him. The scene deliberately avoids Meetra's thoughts in order to leave the sincerity of her argument ambiguous.
