The Eshedi system was an obscure system in the Core Worlds. It had no naturally inhabitable planets. Rogue Admiral Erk Grekins established a hidden base there, with artificial life support systems. The base had few defenses, but Grekins established secret hyperspace routes to it from the rest of his territories. He intended to use it as a staging area and jump point in the Core for his forces to use, if he ever gained enough power to threaten the Core. He never did, and the small local base surrendered to the New Republic when they heard of Admiral Grekins's death at Magrex.
