Erruouf Azimuth, officially named after the first king of Aradan as Erruouf Elios Azimuth, was a Human male born in 59 BBY within the Kingdom of Aradan. Hailing from the capital itself, Aradan, Erruouf was born into the House of Azimuth and became the elected king in 41 BBY while also serving in the Republic Judicial Forces.
In 39 BBY, Erruouf had relinquished his rule in favor of service, crowning his brother Leiron king. Leiron ruled for only four years, before the kingdom was absolved in 35 BBY.
By the time of 22 BBY, Erruouf was among the few Fleet Admirals the Republic had and an officer of the Eighth Army. Three months into the war, he was placed in charge of the army.
When the end of the Republic came about and the Galactic Empire replaced it, Erruouf immediately relinquished his service, and instead enlisted in the Cybe Sector Defense Forces.
By 4 ABY he was the Duke of the House of Azimuth and heavily opposed the warlord Norven Loyaler.
In 9 ABY, Erruouf served on Jevron Loyaler's royal council.
Biography[]
Early life and service[]
Erruouf was born in 66 BBY to Otto Azimuth of the House of Azimuth, the ruling house of the Kingdom of Aradan at that point. Erruouf was the oldest child, with Leiron being born two years later and Terence seven years later.
Despite being the heir apparent, Erruouf enrolled into the Aradani Naval College and graduated on the age of nineteen, immediately entering service with the Cybe Sector Defense Forces. Three years later, Erruouf was enlisted with the Republic Judicial Forces and led a detachment of forces during the Stark Hyperspace War.
Erruouf's first taste of combat came with the battle of Leclite, serving under commander Duncan Finn and commanding the Wyvern.
Due to a hierarchical error, Erruouf was placed in charge of the ground forces on Leclite, directly opposing Iaco Stark's enforcer and commander, Esarion II Napolae Daruun. Despite the error, Erruouf proved to be at least an insightful ground commander.
After the war[]
In light of his skill, Erruouf was promoted to certified ground commander in all but rank, maintaining his new rank of commodore within the Judicial Forces instead.
In 41 BBY, Erruouf was abruptly forced to retire from service when his father died on the throne. He would promptly be crowned king against his wishes. In this time however, Aradan and Cybe grew closer in part due to Erruouf's career in the Cybe Sector Defense Forces. At this point he maintained commanding ranks in three militaries and could effectively unite the CSDF and the Aradani Royal Navy.
Erruouf's rule was only brief however, as in 39 BBY, Erruouf abdicated and was replaced by his brother, Leiron Azimuth. Erruouf instead continued his service in the Judicial Forces.
Republic service[]
Much to Erruouf's disdain, the Kingdom of Aradan was abolished in 35 BBY and replaced by the Council of Nobles. This permitted Erruouf to continue his service in the Judicial Forces and to maintain his rank in the CSDF, despite not being in active service.
While in service, Erruouf met a man called Akas Quinn who would come to serve him and became his protege.
In 22 BBY, with the re-establishment of the Republic Navy, Erruouf was one of the few Fleet Admirals the Republic counted, and gained command of the Oblique Prism Fleet. Erruouf was assigned to the Eighth Army and when its commander, Horace Ethel died, Erruouf became acting commander. At this point, he commanded a Maelstrom-class battle cruiser, the Khamsin.
Erruouf and the army saw intense fighting throughout the war, resulting in great losses. Erruouf himself was involved in the initial designs for the Victory Plan but only got to execute a similar plan two years later.
After the Clone Wars[]
When Order 66 came down and the Republic turned into the Galactic Empire, Erruouf resigned from the newly instituted Imperial Navy and instead resumed his service in the Cybe Sector Defense Forces, joined by Akas.
Erruouf was given a command position within the CSDF due to his many years of experience and positions previously held.
The Aradan Union[]
When Norven Loyaler initially came to Aradan prior to the Battle of Yavin, Erruouf was suspicious of the Imperial admiral but cooperated with him. When in 4 ABY Norven returned, he was initially hailed as liberator as Aradan had intended to declare its independence in the hours after the Emperor's death. During the revolt on Aradan, Erruouf and Norven briefly allied.
However, following the battle it became clear that Norven had intended to claim Aradan himself, without influence from the Royal Houses and Erruouf went into open rebellion again. Erruouf's rebellion was brief however, and the man was imprisoned by Norven, forcing the House of Azimuth to join him and Hector – the baron's son – to enter service with the navy.
Commonwealth of Aradan[]
When in 17 ABY, the previous government collapsed due to the second Aradani uprising, the Aradani Royal Council was to be reformed as well. On this council sat various members of older councils, Erruouf included.
Yuuzhan Vong War[]
During the Yuuzhan Vong War, Erruouf, though officially retired from active naval service, found himself drawn back into the tumultuous currents of galactic conflict. Leading the Commonwealth's military as Chief of Military, Erruouf marshaled his decades of experience to confront the enigmatic Yuuzhan Vong threat. Despite facing personal health challenges, Erruouf's strategic acumen and resolve defined the Commonwealth's response to the invaders.
At the onset of the war, Erruouf, wrestling with both external foes and an internal adversary in the form of a heart ailment, personified the resilience of a leader dedicated to safeguarding his people. His role as Chief of Military saw him navigating the complex dynamics of interstellar warfare while grappling with the inherent vulnerability of mortality.
