Erayyxa was an Outer Rim world. It was in the Erayyxa system, part of the Belderone sector, near the Gordian Reach. It had a very diverse range of sentients despite its distance from major hyperspace routes. It joined the Republic near the end of the New Sith Wars but was largely ignored, resulting in the rise of so many warlords that the actual government ceased to exist by 700 BBY. The planet was united under one warlord shortly before the Clone Wars and it became a member of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The Galactic Empire took over the planet in 18 BBY and it became independent in 6 ABY. It went to war with the New Republic shortly before the First Order crises.

Home to millions of species of plants and animals, the planet had diverse ecosystems sporadically interrupted by nearly lifeless wastelands where only hearty grasses or insects like the mogobeetles survived.
History[]
Erayyxa became a member world of the Republic in 1,001 BBY after centuries of being used as a shadow port by pirates and smugglers. Almost no attention was given to the planet and it continued as a haven for criminals. By 900 BBY there were several warlords ruling different parts of the planet and within two hundred years the official government totally disappeared. In 126 BBY a smuggler named E-oon Decht delivered a nuclear bomb to a Btryzetix warlord called Zealot 44. Zealot 44 proceeded to destroy the city of Styrriuak with it and blamed the smuggler.
Among the most famous warlords were a Boltrunian cyborg named Skarl, a Zexx named Bneldrnj who ruled for nearly two centuries, Sarqi Victeer, Mergo the Hutt, the assassin droid 3X-AK2R, and Sarqi Polpotta, a Nothoiin who united the entire system under his control in 26 BBY. Polpotta began his reign as leader of the League of Civil Defenders and when he became dictator of Erayyxa he reorganized them into the Erayyxa Civil Defense League which became an elite fighting force in the galaxy during the Clone Wars. Erayyxa was a member of the Confedaracy of Independent Systems in the Clone Wars and was invaded by the Republic in 20 BBY. After the devastation of the ECDL and much of the infrastructure was destroyed, the Republic abandoned its campaign against the planet.
Under the Empire, Erayyxa was briefly ruled by the Viidaav dictator Keerii Laa and then a Mirialan named Eddie Zynish was appointed governor of the planet by the Empire after Laa was deposed in 16 BBY. At the same time the ECDL was disbanded and an Imperial garrison was put up on the planet. The Emprie brutally oppressed the world. Only governor Zynish prevented the population from being totally enslaved. Still, smugglers and other lowlifes continued to use it as a waypoint. Several Guudrians immigrated to the planet shortly after the Battle of Endor. In 6 ABY the planet revolted and threw off Imperial Remnant rule although it did not join the New Republic. Sarqi Polpotta escaped Imperial custody and returned to the world with the help of an Erayyxa-born rogue Imperial officer named Jaxe Minzo in 23 ABY. After killing off or uniting the latest generation of Erayyxan warlords under their banner, they attempted to reconstruct the ECDL and declared war on the New Republic, which responded by attacking the planet and removing Polpotta from power. Eddie Zynish was elected ruler of the planet shorty after.
In 34 ABY the First Order conquered the planet. The people resisted and many lost their lives but they killed many enemies and even destroyed a Resurgent-class Star Destroyer in space. After the war, the Itching Empire established a presence on the planet and used it for many operations in the Gordian Reach and the Belderone Sector. They helped rebuild some of the infrastructure, much of which had actually been damaged long before the First Order arrived. It resumed being used as a shadow port very quickly. A corrupt but somewhat liberty-sensitive democratic government was established on the planet and no new warlords arose. Eddie Zynish ran for reelection as the planet's ruler but lost when his opponent, a Quor'sav and ex-warlord known as, Mother Nanqel D'boswa, persuaded voters that he had abandoned Errayxa during the First Order occupation.
