Eras are large spans of time defined by whether a Galactic Power holds hegemony over the Galaxy

- Haespion Era: (6209 bc – 4021 bc), defined as the period proceeding the formation of the First Galactic Republic
- Democran Era: (4021 bc – 2378 bc), an Era where in the First Galactic Republic held vast power over much of the Galaxy.
- Hyperial Era: (2378 bc – 1020 bc), defined as the period following the First Galactic Civil War, characterized by enormous strife and conflict throughout the Galaxy.
- Republican Era: (1020 bc – 0 bc), an Era where in the Second Galactic Republic held vast power over much of the Galaxy.
- Collapse Era: (0 ac – 474 ac), defined as the period following the Collapse, characterized by enormous strife and conflict throughout the Galaxy.
- Esstran Era: (474 ac – 1479 ac), an Era defined by the rise in power of the Esstran Empire and their domination of the Galaxy.
- Middle Era: (1479 ac – 2593 ac), an Era that began with the Fall of the Middle Sith Empire and the formation of the Fourth Galactic Republic. The Era was characterized by intermittent conflict that resulted in a Galactic Interregnum until the formation of the Fifth Galactic Republic.
- Dark Era: (0/2593 ac – 939/3532 ac), an Era characterized by the Fall of the Old Republic as well as the eventual Last War of the Sith at the end of the Era that saw the eradication of the New Sith Order from the Galaxy.
- Common Era: (939 – 1943), an Era defined by the formation of the Sixth Galactic Republic as well as its eventually transformation into the First Galactic Empire then subsequent collapse.
- Second Dark Era: (1943 – 3002), named for its similarity to the First Dark Era, the Era was defined by its inciting war the Thirty-Seventh Galactic Civil War.
