An energy prod was a tool farmers used to herd animals. It could also be used as a weapon. Prison guards and correction officers used them to keep prisoners in line. Slavers were known to use them as well.
The energy prod was a long staff-like object. One end had a handle and the other had a forked metal device that was electrically charged. When the forked end touched something or someone, it released an electrical charge.
Krayt Brisker used them to force his captives into their prison cells aboard his ship, the Dragon's Jaws. Billionaire Jordo Drax also used them to torture MI5 operatives Jace Bont and Europa Kapanen.
