Eeth Koth was a Zabrak Jedi Master who sat on the Jedi Council before and during the Clone Wars. Though he was originally presumed to have been killed during the battle of Geonosis it was later revealed that he survived. He was the first Jedi whom General Grievous personally killed in one on one combat.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Eeth Koth was was born in the slums of Nar Shaddaa and orphaned at a young age. The Jedi were his saviors, and, as a result, he dedicated himself totally to the Order. Although Koth was four years old at the time, the Jedi decided to train him anyway. As Koth grew older he became a respected Jedi and skilled warrior.

Jedi Master[]

Eeth eventually became a Jedi Master and joined the Jedi Council. He was well respected by his peers, and participated in the Concordance of Fealty with fellow Master Mace Windu. He trained Sharad Hett as his Padawan.

Yinchorri uprising[]

Master Koth was one of ten Jedi that volunteered to travel to Yinchorr with Mace Windu, to bring the Yinchorri to peace. He was teamed up with Adi Gallia, Tsui Choi, and Theen Fida. Their group was dispatched to the planet Yitheeth. Their plan was to act as traders peddling plans for the new T-21 Hyper Particle Exchange Chamber. Eeth noted that he had never heard of such an item. Adi had just made it up. Unfortunately for them, the plan went wrong and they were surrounded by a squad of Yinchorri warriors, led by Olmar Grahrk. The Jedi managed to defeat them, and they took Grahrk prisoner. Koth's group picked up the other two task forces with the only remaining Consular-class space cruiser, and proceeded to Yinchorr to rescue Master Windu's group. There was a fierce battle which cost the lives of three of the Jedi.

Later missions[]

At some point after the Yinchorri uprising, Eeth was sent with fellow Jedi Master Plo Koon to Obredaan to investigate new warriors. When their ship crashed in the swamps they were both captured by Jin'ha, however, Qui-Gon Jinn, with the help of his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, managed to free them.

After hearing reports that Qui-Gon's slayer Darth Maul might have been an Iridonian Zabrak, Koth conducted an investigation, but after some time he failed to discover the identity of the deceased Sith Lord.

During the Ashaar Khorda crisis, Koth personally safeguarded Alderaan.

Clone Wars[]

Like many Jedi, Eeth Koth fought during the battle of Geonosis. When Master Yoda and the newly formed clone army arrived to rescue the Jedi, Koth escaped the arena on a gunship along with Sora Bulq and Tarados Gon. Their ship was shot down but Koth and Bulq survived though Gon did not.

GrievousVsKoth

Eeth Koth duels General Grievous in his final moments.

Approximately three months into the war, Eeth Koth battled General Grievous, who at the time was completely unknown to the Republic, in a space battle. After Grievous boarded his ship and his MagnaGuards killed the remains of Koth's decimated clone forces, the Jedi Master was left to battle Grievous alone. Challenging Grievous one-on-one, a challenge the cyborg accepted while ensuring his MagnaGuards did not interfere, Koth put up a valiant fight but perished when Grievous split his arms and activated two extra lightsabers. Grievous ensured that there were no survivors.

Legacy[]

Until the Battle of Hypori, Eeth Koth was declared missing in action as nobody in the Jedi Order knew what had happened. Obi-Wan Kenobi replaced him on the Jedi Council, initially intended to be a temporary replacement in the event that Koth returned but becoming a permanent member after Grievous' overwhelming performance on Hypori, where he defeated the entirety of the Republic forces in mere hours which convinced the Order that Koth was dead.

As he was the first Jedi Grievous ever personally killed, Eeth Koth's lightsaber was one of the cyborg's personal favourites. He kept it on him throughout the entire war, even wielding it against Obi-Wan Kenobi three years later on Utapau.

Personality and traits[]

Eeth's talents were great as was his heart. He was a great Jedi and a good friend. I loved him then, and love him still.
Sharad Hett, to Ki-Adi-Mundi

Eeth Koth was a loyal and dedicated Jedi who was completely devoted to the Jedi Order. He was a highly respected member of the Jedi Council and Sharad Hett claimed that he had a great heart and was a good friend. Koth had a very close bond with his former Padawan; so close that Hett actually claimed that he had loved the Jedi Master and still did.

Powers and abilities[]

Eeth Koth was trained as a Jedi Guardian and was a talented swordsman, being one of the few Jedi to survive the battle of Geonosis. He was a master of Djem So and was able to hold his own against Grievous, forcing the cyborg to resort to using four lightsabers in order to kill him.

In addition to his lightsaber skills, Koth also learned the rare Crucitorn power which enhanced his natural Zabrak ability to withstand torture.
