Edo was a type of metal found within the treacherous mountain ranges on the continent Azuma on the Inner Rim world Kazoku. Discovered sometime between 23,000 BBY and 22,000 BBY, Edo was the first type of metal found by the Kazokans on their homeworld and were used in the forging of their weapons and armours, and were minted into the Kazokan Mon, a currency issued to the Kazokan people. Edo would remain in demand for weaponry and armour until 17,000 BBY when the Shogunate Commission sent ships to scout the planet's twin moons, in which they discovered the metals Yoroi and Tachi. The properties of the former were ideal for Kishi armour and the latter ideal for weaponry. The mining of these two metals had diminished the use of Edo for the forging of weaponry and armour, remaining solely for the purpose of minting Kazokan Mon.
Replaced by the Yoroi and Tachi metals, Edo remained in use for its properties as a natural repellent to heat and were used in the construction of structures during colder seasons to trap in heat as well to keep areas warm.
