Earth, also known in more recent times as Zakuul, was a planet located in the Unknown Regions and capital planet of the Eternal Empire, as well as the original homeworld of humanity in the galaxy. Following the collapse of the Eternal Empire, the civilization of Earth degraded and was largely forgotten by most of the galaxy until it's rediscovery in 14 ABY

Description[]

Originally, Earth was a world of many diverse climates and biomes, though the environment has suffered many changes over the years. From Valkorian's arrival thousands of years ago, all the way to the rediscovery of the planet, Earth was a swampy world reminiscent of Dagobah, with a significant southern ocean and bogs that cover the planet's surface including the Endless Swamp, a semi-solid area filled with massive, overgrown trees. The planet also had a unique connection to the Force being balanced between the light and dark sides of the Force. Earth was home to a human population along with the native Iknayid, but other creatures were present also and even adapted to their environment such as the swamp rancor. The planet also possessed advanced technology with several cities spread throughout the world branching off from the Spire and being the resting place of the Eternal Throne, both of which became apart of the vast Eternal Ruins. Earth also had three moons, the first of which, Lua, was the planet's oldest satellite. It's other two moons, Selene and Chandra, once the dwarf planets Eris and Senda respectively, were mysteriously pulled out of their orbit and into Earth's. How this happened is entirely unknown.

History[]

Rise of Terra[]

It isn't quite clear where human civilization began on Earth, though around 230,000 BBY, also known as the 21st century to early humans, around 196 nation states existed on Earth, and have been doing so for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. Any sort of culture created prior to that year, be it novels, legends, cultures, cuisine, religions, and all aspect of early human life, was lost over time. Eventually, the 196 countries of Earth converged into one single government known as the Terran Commonwealth. Numerous colony ships were launched around this period, some to planets within the Sol System, others to neighboring star systems. The status of those colony ships remained unknown, though two of them were headed to Odessen, known at the time as Tau Ceti, and Valak IV, formerly known as Epsilon Indi.

Twilight of Earth[]

Sometime before 200,000 BBY, the landscape of Earth was warped in a great cataclysm that ransacked the planet. Most of the cities and population were killed off as the planet was morphed into a swamp world. The Commonwealth collapsed shortly after, and with it, most of the colonies. Though almost all of the colonies in Wild Space died off, those closer to the core survived, allowing humans to continue their existence away from their now-forgotten homeworld. The surviving humans on Earth became savage and devolved into tribal clans. The religion of the Old Gods also formed shortly after. Sometime between then and Vitiate's discovery of the planet, the Iokath Builders attempted to be use Earth as a live testing site for their weapons, though their operations on the planet were unknown. The world was presumably abandoned when the builders went extinct.
