Dunra Venanr, born Dunrav'enanr, was a female Twi'lek Jedi Master in the days of the Republic, and served as a Jedi Scholar in the doomed mission led by Trskaar Niroth. She was also known throughout the Jedi Order because of her unusually black skin. Dunra served as a Padawan under the Nautolan Jedi Master, Fima Skrit, and was later knighted in 562 BBY.
Dunra later chose to lead the life Jedi Librarian, and confined herself in the Jedi Library on Coruscant. She rarely ever left the library, and usually spent her spare time studying ancient texts from the Golden age of the Republic.
In 521 BBY, she was chosen to be the co-captain of the Jedi team, led by Trskaar Niroth, to go into the Unknown Regions and search for a vast library that was rumored to lay out there. After the team fell into the trap set up by the pirate Skar Gorga, and fell onto the desert planet Malagarr, she found an entrance leading underground. She survived and even was one of the developers of the lightsaber form called Form VIIb: Täius. Shortly after, the Republic rescued the surviving Jedi and took them home for healing. Dunra suffered from almost fatal dehydration by the time she was able to recieve adequate medical treatment. The mental damage, though, was never able to heal. She left the Jedi Order after she healed from the after effects. By 519 BBY, Dunra was leading a small band that consisted of Dark Jedi against the Order, but was silenced by her former companion Trskaar Niroth after a vicious duel.
