Biography[]
Early life[]
Duncan was born in 69 BBY on Coruscant to Armer Finn and Miria Finn. At this point, the Finn family was large, and Duncan had at least thirteen uncles. A few uncles served in the Judicial Forces and would often tell Duncan tales of their service, inspiring Duncan to eventually enter service as well.
His mother, Miria, came to pass when Duncan was only eight years old. This led to his father neglecting him and caused him permanent depression. As such, Duncan moved out when he was fifteen years old, faced with the harsh reality that was his life.
Having always dreamt of stargazing and exploring the galaxy, he entered the College of Planetary Security Forces to this end, and was soon enlisted in the Judicial Forces, becoming captain of his own ship, a Republic light assault cruiser he christened Aurora.
Service[]
Unlike the majority of his family, Duncan had a distaste for corporate types, preferring real action over talk about money. In contrast, his parents and several of his uncles found the military to be a disgraceful occupation.
During a night out on Coruscant, Duncan would meet his future wife, Eva.
In light of different interests than his father, Duncan would often clash with him. The first time they'd meet again since he had left would be after the end of the Stark Hyperspace War in 40 BBY, which was also their last meeting, during which Duncan confronted him on his support for the Trade Federation. Prior to the war, his wife would conceive two children, twins James and Jarno Finn.
Later life[]
The meeting was fruitless, and the two parted ways again, never to speak again.
Reno Finn would be born a few years later, in 38 BBY.
Duncan's father would pass away in 28 BBY, he was present for neither the ceremony or the funeral, and would only visit his grave once, and scolded him.
In the years leading up to his death, Duncan would learn about his father's business prior to the Stark Hyperspace War, as well as the planet in the Corporate Sector but the papers had been lost to time.
In 24 BBY, Duncan's flagship was upgraded from the Aurora to the Martyr, a Hammerhead II-class heavy cruiser.
His research came to a stop when Duncan was deployed for the last time during the Clone Wars, serving in admiral capacity during the Victory Campaign. He died in 19 BBY.
Legacy[]
While James and his son Elgar always had a positive opinion on the man, other relatives didn't always find this to be the case, often disagreeing with his behaviour towards his father even after he had passed. James would name his son, Elgar, after him.
