Dukin was a Lycari Overlord during the War of liberation and the last person to hold the title. He was killed by the Anti-S'kytri virus during the Battle of Lycari in 4,381 BBY, on his 668th birthday.

Biography[]

Early years[]

Born exactly six hundred and sixty-eight years before his death, Dukin was the son of a wealthy Lycari stone merchant who was destined to become Overlord. For his first twenty years of his life, Dukin's life was uneventful until his father's election to the position of Overlord.

Being a lone-child, Dukin was spoiled by his father. Dukin took all this in his stride, but maintained a childhood fascination with war. By his fortieth birthday, the young (by Lycari standards) Dukin had entered into the Lycari military against the wishes of his parents, but with his father's blessing.

His initial training went well, but after choosing his specialist subject – Command & Control – things began to falter for Dukin. He found the training progressively more difficult which, while normal for military recruits, had a profound effect on Dukin. Eventually however, Dukin survived the training, passing his final exams and officially joining the C&C ranks.

Military life and promotions[]

Military life for Dukin was a glorious thing. He enjoyed every moment of it, and became well known in the C&C for his tact for limiting casualties, both in simulation and reality. He held a fondness for several certain military detachments, which soon became known collectively as Dukin's Knights. After a relatively short career of seventy years Dukin was promoted to the rank of General.

Dukin continued to serve in the Lycari military, leading several successful military campaigns against various enemies ranging from rebels to rival nations. By the year 4,570 BBY the entire planet of Lycari had been absorbed into one state, headed up by Dukin's father.

Arrival of the S'kytri[]

In 4,385 BBY the Dukin's father announced to the world that he had been confronted by aliens from another world. Calling themselves the S'kytri, the aliens came as bringers of peace and justice, and quickly integrated themselves in Lycari society.

Ending the years of turmoil on the planet, the S'kytri were hailed as heroes on Lycari, but some, including Dukin himself, didn't totally trust the S'kytri and begged the Overlord to confront the the S'kytri. The Overlord refused, and the S'kytri penetration into Lycari society continued.

Forty years after the S'kytri arrival, the Overlord had died, at the grand age of five hundred and seventy-six and the question of his successor was brought into question. Unsurprising to some, the S'kytri put forward several of their own candidates, but Lycari society had not totally been consumed by the S'kytri. Dukin, pledging to "right the wrongs of our forefathers", entered his candidacy and won the election, and became Overlord.

Life as an Overlord[]

Although he held a deep despise for the S'kytri, Dukin was not above using their technology to his advantage, in particular, the S'kytri vibroblade. Dukin trained himself to master the vibroblade, as well as the S'kytri blaster.

Dukin's Knights were made into the honorary guard, and it became illegal for S'kytri to enter the military. But despite this set back, the S'kytri did not give up, and they continued to dig into Lycari society; although at a reduced rate of speed. The S'kytri knew that Dukin was not a person to cross.

After twelve years of rule, Dukin reign hit a wall when supporters of the S'kytri began to rebel in the southern continents. Dukin and his supporters in the government instantly became suspicious of this sudden upsurge in S'kytri support and took the chance to deal a serious blow to S'kytri influence in Lycari government.

Dukin removed all S'kytri members of government "for their own protection" and shifted all power of the state to the Overlord's inner-circle. Dukin then set about with clearing up the rebels, but found that the damage had already been done. The rebellion had spread much deeper than he had anticipated, and full scale civil war broke out.

Civil War[]

At first, Dukin and his supporters treated the rebellion with disdain, but following the attack on the Presidential Palace, Dukin stepped up his plans to eradicate the rebels. Following the attack, almost the entire S'kytri population fled to the southern continents under the premise of protecting themselves, although Dukin was totally convinced that they had fled to support the rebellion. Wasting no time, Dukin sent his armies south, invading the rebel held lands at the city of Teni.

The battle was a massacre, as Dukin's forces decimated the enemy army and exterminated the local populous. Dukin's armies then continued south, slowly reclaiming the territories lost to the rebels before Dukin himself arrived to lead the army into the battle of Teni.

Dukin lead his army into battle headlong, cutting a great swathe through the enemy forces. Dukin's army slaughtered the rebels, and destroyed several villages in the region.
