Drooft was the Folper homeworld, located along The Drooft in the Vysip Triangle of the Savareen sector in the Outer Rim Territories, nearly on the border of the Arkanis sector. It was a swamp world, famous across the galaxy for its eight billion different species of insects. One of the characteristics of the planet was its soft, spongy ground, but a few mountain ranges had solid terrain and it was in them that the ruins of ancient Folper cities survived.

History[]

The Folpers built massive stone cities between around Drooft in the Age of Kings between 1,800,000 BBY and 1,500,000 BBY. Very little from this age survived, even in the mountains. During the Progressive Age, which lasted from 342,000 BBY until the Peasant War started in 331,413 BBY, the stone cities in the mountains were rebuilt. There was a wealth of information on this era that was preserved. By 50,000 BBY, the Folpers were beginning to experiment with a type of hyperdrive. However, a devastating planetary civil war set them back technologically thousands of years. Numerous wars followed and, by the time a new hyperdrive was in development circa 23,000 BBY, there were only two races of Folpers remaining, a tall lemon-skinned race and a squat subservient race that made up a majority of the population. Even though a hyperdrive was finally invented on Drooft, the Folpers never used it.

In 14,786 BBY, a team of Écparzi and Human scouts discovered the technologically capable, yet culturally stubborn world of Drooft. Various setbacks prevented Drooft from becoming part of galactic civilization for another nine thousand years. Finally, in 5,806 BBY, Drooft joined the Savareen Pact of Planets, an alliance of star systems loosely affiliated with the Galactic Republic. During the Jedi Civil War, Drooft was conquered by Darth Revan’s forces and a small Sith Covent was established to send assassins against any anyone searching for the Star Map on nearby Tatooine. The Sith eventually abandoned the planet.

In 234 BBY the assassin droid 3X-AK2R killed a target in the wild Hywulf Prefecture on Drooft. During the Clone Wars, the planet remained neutral. The Empire set up a small outpost on Drooft in 11 BBY to monitor smuggling activities between planets in the Arkanis sector and the Vysip Triangle. Damen D'Sote joined the Rebellion in 1 ABY after Imperial forces murdered thousands of Folpers in the infamous Drooft Massacres. The outpost was abandoned in 5 ABY. Drooft joined the First Order in 36 ABY for fear of increased Hutt influence in the Vysip Triangle.
