History[]
The ancestors of the Drasken Humans, the Ursians, lived on the planet Ursia in the Tion Hegemony, where they built an agrarian society on the planet's fertile plains. For centuries, the Ursians lived as simple farmers. While they didn’t get too involved in the galaxy’s affairs, the Ursians were staunch anti-slavery supporters and many of them were active in anti-slavery organizations.
Around two thousand years before the clone wars, Jaum ‘Chainbreaker’ Higoot and his anti-slavery militia freed a third of the slave supply owned by the infamous Zygerrian slaver Murkus the Tormentor. In an act of revenge, Murkus purchased a nuclear bomb and dropped it on Ursia’s polar ice caps, which caused the excess water to flood Ursia’s only landmass and forced all of Ursia’s population onto a relatively small area of land. Murkus and his men then came down took a number of Urisans as slaves. It was several days until a Tioness fleet arrived and evacuated the Ursians.
For ten years, the Ursians were scattered throughout various planets in the Tion Hegemony. An Ursian leader named Natham Smiffe made an arrangement with the Yaunchets of Drask to invite the Ursians to settle there. Eventually, the Ursians outnumbered the Yaunchets and animosity developed between the groups. But this animosity subsided.
After the flood of immigrants from from Har-ak, the Drasken Humans endured decades of Sith rule alongside their Yaunchet countrymen. After the Sith were driven of Drask, the Drasken Humans and the Yaunchets formed a democratic republic. They were the primary group that colonized Drask’s moon Tivares.
Society and Culture[]
The Drasken Humans were a simple people who preferred to live as farmers and ranchers. They greatly valued spending time with family and friends and often lived multigenerational homes. Because of their similarly to the Yaunchets, they easily integrated into their society on Drask.
