"Dr. Shak" was a male Twi'lek who for a time served as a military doctor with the Republic Navy. As the inventor of resurrection technology, he was one of the physicians who worked on the project to revive Marine officer Laera Reyolé, after she had been killed in combat during the liberation of Onderon in the last months of the Mandalorian Wars. As the project, which took sixteen Standard months, wrapped up, he oversaw the process of "waking" the officer, and ensuring that she still possessed full functionality.
