Dplor (dih-plore) was a green gas giant with purple rings located in the Cynon system. Its orbit came quite close to the orbit of Moam and on occasion would pass by the planet itself, creating incredible gravitational pull, ripping the planet apart at the seams.

Scientists observed other similar systems with this occurrence, but did not find the gas giants enacting geological forces on passing planets. It was then theorized that the purple rings of Dplor had something to do with the instability. Chemical and physical examination of the rings revealed the existence of chlorine, sulfur, silicon, carbon, and phosphorus, as well as free-floating positrons (antimatter as positive electrons) in amounts of a few parts per million. Though far and few, these particles were ejected into space and towards Moam. It was also believed that the phosphorus atoms created the purple tinge of the rings and the chlorine intensified the color.

Moam pulled these positrons in and they became enriched in the magmas of the planet. This increased the spontaneous annihilation of antimatter with matter, triggering internal forces to increase the speed of rotating convection cells, thus increasing the speed of rate of magma formation at divergent boundaries, and increasing plate movement across the planet. All of this occurred at 10 times normal geologic rates. When Dplor moved away from Moam, the activity slowed to just above normal rate.
