Border Campaign Medal

The Defense of the Empire Medal was awarded to servicebeings in the Glorious Armada of the Golden Empire who took part in conflicts inside the Empire itself, defending it against various internal threats. Examples included the Second Battle of Shel Du, the Chiss Rebellion, and campaigns against pirates and organized crime, such as the Hunt for Red Eclipse. Because of this, it was sometimes sarcastically referred to as "the Martial Law Medal".

The medal itself was a gold circle, suspended from the ribbon with gold chain links. The medal featured a black shield, on which was embossed a gold design of three laser bursts against a deflector shield. The ribbon from which it hung was half green and half black.

A being who participated in combat was almost guaranteed to receive at least one campaign medal, between the Defense of the Empire Medal and the Border Campaign Medal.
