I AM A FORCE-SENSITIVE BATTLE DROID! GET OVER IT!
—Darth Tyler

Darth Tyler, previously known as T-1LR, was a force-sensitive Sith B-1 battle droid serving in the Trade Federation Droid Army, the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Galactic Droid Empire, and the New Confederacy of Independent Systems. He participated in famous battles such as the Invasion of Naboo, Battle of Muunilinst, Battle of Tanaab, among many others. He was the creator and self-appointed first Emperor of the Galactic Droid Empire, as well as the first Supreme Commander of the New Confederacy of Independent Systems Droid Armies and the first Speaker of the Confederate Senate.

Other than the fact of being the only Force-sensitive battle droid, he was a Sith, and self-trained. He was the only known user of Form XLII: Zastra, his own form. However, Darth Wyyrlok (II) and K'Kruhk may have used the form as well. He was also a member of the New Confederacy of Independent Systems Council, along with Troyb, Vale Sinkon, Kiita the Greater, and others. He signed several treaties with many governments, but had his share of losses and victories in battles. His personality was rough, he did not get along with other major political figures such as Kiita immediately. Although they would get off at a rocky start, they would eventually get along.

Tyler received a lot of flack daily about his battle droid-status. Several assassination attempts were made on him, all resulting in a failure. He took an apprentice, Darth Adrsti, later in his life. Adrsti would become a very independent apprentice and would often try to kill Tyler. Tyler dueled Adrsti at one point, killing him. Another attempt was made on his life on his own ship, where one of his highly-loyal Flame battle droids turned on him. The droid was cut into seven pieces by the end of the fight, showing all other droids his power.

Biography

Invasion of Naboo

Now that I look back on it, the mission was easy. Go in there, capture the planet and peaceful civilians, come back out. How did we lose?
—Tyler, after thinking about the Invasion of Naboo

Darth Tyler, as he was to be later known, started out as T-1LR, a B-1 Battle Droid manufactured on a secret Trade Federation base on Eos. He was the prototype of a line of force-sensitive battle droids, designed to be a new generation of superior battle droids and a cheap counter to Jedi, although this line was never finished. During his creation, he was fitted with a secret old synthetically created crystal of Sith origin (that was created with arcane Sith chemistry) on instructions from Darth Sidious as part of an experiment, the purpose of which was never made entirely clear, although from all available evidence it seemed that Sidious was toying with the idea of creating some sort of cheaply obtainable anti-Jedi weapon for his use. This crystal allowed a droid to use the Force, via shadowy means. T-1LR's line, unfinished, was abandoned after the Battle of Naboo. The line was semi-created again when the CIS made the Jedi-Killer droids. He was transferred to the Lucrehulk-class freighter Medal as a security droid. The Medal was sent with the many Trade Federation ships to blockade the peaceful planet of Naboo. Soon, Darth Sidious commanded an immediate Invasion of Naboo, so T-1LR was sent down in one of the many MTTs.

T-1LR captured the queen in Theed Palace and was the battle droid told to take them to Camp four by the Neimoidian Troyb (they would soon encounter each other again years later). He was then sent to the grassy plains of Naboo.

The Gungan Grand Army soon met his MTT in the grassy plains of Naboo, and T-1LR was soon caught in the crossfire. He soon got in and piloted an AAT. He shot down the shield generator, which allowed several more AATs to come inside the battle. A blaster bolt shot his antenna off of him, which cut him off from the signal from the Droid Control Ship Saak'ak. To his surprise, he kept working, and piloted the AAT towards the outskirts of the battle. Suddenly, he heard a noise, and the droid next to him fell apart. He knew the people of Naboo had won. He piloted his AAT toward the city and destroyed the defenses surrounding the hangar.

Once he got in, he destroyed several of the N-1 starfighters in the hangar, but saved one last starfighter for himself, which he flew back to Eos. He discovered that someone had destroyed the facility. He flew his N-1 to a random planet, which turned out to be the planet Agon 9.

Life on Agon 9

That planet has always been my home. I will protect it with all my strength.
—Tyler, after building his droid army

T-1LR fixed what was left of the Saak'ak tractor beam and moved the main part of the Eos base to Agon 9. He repaired it and lived in it until the start of the Clone Wars. On his stay at Agon 9, he discovered an ancient Sith temple filled with information about Sith abilities. He tried a simple Force push on a nearby table and it thrusted away from him. He didn't know how, but he knew that he was the only Force-sensitive battle droid ever produced. He truly did not know how. He began to feel less like a droid and more like a Sith, with emotions and anger. He then found the information needed to construct and wield a lightsaber.

He took his N-1 starfighter to Ilum, where he knew he would find crystals for his lightsaber. The only place the information had specified was this planet. He looked around and found a good-sized red crystal for a lightsaber. He went back to Agon 9 and used spare parts to build his lightsaber. He followed the instructions and practiced every day for years until he mastered Form III: Soresu. He constructed several training droids that wielded blasters so that he could counteract to any blaster technology used against him. He then programmed a hologram of himself with a lightsaber to help him train in lightsaber-to-lightsaber combat. Once he mastered Soresu, he was ready to move out of Agon 9 and into the Core Worlds.

Clone Wars

Whoa...what happened here?
—CT-6/927, clone pilot, after witnessing the destruction of one of the Republic capital ships

He flew the N-1 through the Muunilinst system, where he discovered a battle raging on between an army of droids that looked exactly like himself and an army full of white-armored clones carrying the symbols of the Galactic Republic. He decided to use his new powers and help the droids that looked exactly like himself. He landed inside one of the Republic capital ships and took out the clone troopers in the hangar with his lightsaber. The clones notified the bridge about a "battle droid with a black cape using a lightsaber." He walked into the elevator and went to the bridge of the cruiser.

Once he arrived, he took down the pilots and waited for another task force of clones to arrive on the bridge to see what was going on. The clones arrived and he took them out. He used the Force to pilot the entire ship towards another Republic capital ship. He immediately went into the hangar and flew a small fighter out of the ship and watched the fireworks.

Count Dooku later recognized his abilities with the Force and trained him in the dark side further. He became a lesser-known Dark Acolyte.

T-1LR during the Clone Wars.

T-1LR lead many troops to victory everywhere he went, but the only planet that gave him the recognition of even General Grievous was the Battle of Tanaab. Tanaab was a CIS-controlled planet, as it was the homeworld of Migzar, an Ugnaught Separatist. The Republic naturally attacked Tanaab with the 182nd Legion. The Republic sent thousands of troops to Tanaab, making sure they would capture Migzar and T-1LR. T-1LR used seventeen Trade federation cruisers to push back the Venators and used hundreds of Jump droids to take out the incoming Jet troopers. After that, he used twenty Ultra battle droids to take out any survivors. As the Republic troops retreated, K'Kruhk, a Whiphid Jedi, dueled Tyler. Eventually Tyler accidentally kicked the Whiphid into a lake. Knowing he couldn't go underwater, he retreated. K'Kruhk later swam to safety. All Republic troops lay dead or a piece of debris in space, and the droids had all but a scratch on the hull of the cruisers in space. It was victory.

Droid followers

When he learned of Dooku's death on the Invisible Hand, he decided it was a waste of time to continue with the CIS. A few droids who had worked with him before followed him back to Agon 9, thinking that they were going to fight the Republic on Agon 9. The Republic didn't show up, though, so the droids asked why they were there. T-1LR told the droids that he was officially resigning from the CIS. Some of the droids, having learned individuality through the war, stayed with T-1LR and even gave him a new name- Tyler, complete with the term Darth, as read in the ancient Sith information.

Tyler, having learned of the universal control signal and the exposal of the secret base on Mustafar through the Force, reprogrammed all the droids so that they depended on their own independent droid brain and not a signal. Darth Vader's attempt at deactivating all the droids did not fully work, and none of the droids were deactivated. Darth Tyler decided to make a droid factory and made hundreds of thousands of battle droids, the new Super battle droids and droidekas, each depending on their own brain. They received personalities and became just like organics, except with faster reflexes and better aiming. He named his army the Galactic Droid Empire, with Darth Tyler as the first Emperor to reign.

Imperial era

Are you sure there is a...factory on this planet?
—OOM-9 (not the real OOM-9, but named after him)
Hunting for the Factory

The landing craft approaches the base.

As the Clone Wars ended, Tyler became aware of a secret base on the lava planet Mustafar. He decided to go to the factory and see if he could use the droid factory to build some droids.

Once Tyler and his Droid Control Ship arrived, he sent down one Landing craft to land on a large landing pad and deploy troops to find the facility. Only one hour later, the facility was found. At the base, he found that a Geonosian named Gizor Dellso had already found the base and was using it to make droids. He stayed there and saw that a new droid was being planned. Tyler went in and transmitted the schematics to the Droid Control Ship for later use. He left a fake copy of the schematics to trick Gizor. Later, he heard of a fight on Mustafar to kill Gizor. Gizor and the stormtroopers that were attacking didn't know who had already stolen the schematics. He put the schematics into production and welcomed the new droids into the Empire.

After the Battle of Nickel One during the Outer Rim sieges, a Verpine Jedi named Hasti Zaadvala survived Order 66 by slaying all of his clone troopers. Hasti soon formed a rebellious army against Tyler's GDE. Tyler decided to take action by dueling the Verpine. The duel was long, but each move was precisely attacked by each duelist. Eventually, the Verpine was killed by Tyler's Force crush.

Galactic Civil War

Sir, we've gotten reports of another Empire."
"Another one. You're kidding."
"No sir, its made up of droids.

—Rebel officers

The Rebel Alliance, having heard of reports of a large droid army on the nearby planet of Agon Nine, dispatched a scout force to confirm this rumor. Two Mon Calamari star cruisers caught up with a Galactic Droid Empire Droid Control Ship. The Vulture droids faced off against Rebel X-Wing starfighters in a battle above Agon Nine. Darth Tyler flew CIS strike bombers over the Mon Calamari star cruisers, which disabled them. He then flanked the battle with a large number of Tri-fighters. The Galactic Droid Empire had an overwhelming victory, with two captured Mon Calamari star cruisers and the destruction of all small fighters. Only five droid starfighters were shot down.

A few more skirmishes occurred, some in the surrounding planets such as Abyssissa. Only one battle was lost to the Rebel Alliance, and that was a small battle above the planet Siskeen. Tyler eventually used Sith lightning on some of the Rebel soldiers, which exposed him as a Sith.

Galactic Empire versus Galactic Droid Empire. How many Empires are there ruling this galaxy?
—TK-370

After scanning the Agon system and picking up signals that matched two disabled Mon Calamari star cruisers, the Empire sent two Star Destroyers to investigate. Instead of finding Rebels, they found a large droid army massing quickly on Agon Nine. They notified a local Imperial prison on the other side of the planet to check the facility out and asked why they had not picked up a signal of that of thousands of battle droids already. Tyler was already planning an attack on the prison when the prison attacked first. The two Star Destroyers also bombarded the droids from above, but the skilled piloting and gunning of the Droid Control Ship from above took care of completely destroying the two Star Destroyers. The battle droids took care of the local prison and killed any survivors. No Imperial threat would stop the Galactic Droid Empire. Tyler later requested a complete repainting of the Mon Calamari star cruisers now that they were part of the Galactic Droid Empire.

Agon Nine was now almost completely forgotten by both the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance; they both were more worried about battling each other. The Droid Army had grown to seven planets now, and was quickly growing. The Empire and the Rebels could not ignore any longer. They were coming. Tyler knew it. He prepared for war. He made twenty new Control Ships, with twenty Mon Calamari star cruisers. Thousands of CIS ships swarmed the skies and watched for trouble. He would not make the mistake the CIS did of having one signal. The droids never died of old age, they were loyal, intelligent, and sophisticated, yet still expressed emotion and anger against the enemy. They were unstoppable.

Large battles with the Rebels

Lord Tyler, we have taken down the tank. Ah, victory!
—Captain OOM-9 and Darth Tyler

After scouting out the regions of the Sullust system, Darth Tyler's personal flagship, the old Droid control ship Medal, which he found at the end of the Clone Wars, spotted a large Rebel outpost on the planet Sullust. Tyler arranged for reinforcements to arrive for an orbital bombardment. More control ships and Mon Calamari star cruisers arrived over Lununmo, a large gas giant in the Sullust system. Suddenly, Rebels launched from a nearby moon, attacking the Medal. Tyler's built in Particle cannon turrets took care of the small Y-Wings attacking. Darth Tyler sent down 5 C-9979 landing crafts to deploy troops on the dangerous and volcanic world of Sullust. The Particle cannon turrets on the lading crafts took care of any defenses preventing the landing of the ships.

Tyler left Captain OOM-9 (named after the real OOM-9) in charge of the space battle. Tyler got in the last landing craft. The landing craft landed on a nearby platform. Tyler ignited his lightsaber and lead his troops through the volcanic world to an underground cave. The droids destroyed the cities and captured Rebels. It was officially named the Raid of Sullust. The space battle was an even more overwhelming victory, with the destruction of more than two-hundred small fighters. Only three Galactic Droid Empire fighters were shot down. The GDE (Galactic Droid Empire) captured the Sullust system, but lost Sullust in a battle with the Rebels in 4 ABY.

Rebels now couldn't ignore the presence of another, smaller Empire massing in the Outer Rim. The Rebels launched another attack against the GDE at Agon Nine's moon, Agon Minor. The Rebels moved first, firing at the base on Agon Minor. Agon Minor was a rainforest moon, so the Rebels sent hovertanks into the battlefield. The GDE sent AATs and some droid tanks to counteract the hovertanks.

Tyler personally lead the battle, destroying roughly twenty hovertanks and killing 259 Rebels with his lightsaber. The Rebels had one last trick up their sleeve, however. A gigantic brown tank hovered over the battlefield. Tyler didn't know what it was until he remembered it from the Battle of Dantooine. It was a seismic tank reactivated by the Rebels. Every droid knew its weaknesses, however, because it was used by the Separatists during the Clone Wars. Tyler called for an immediate attack by the Droid Control Ships from above, destroying the seismic tank. The giant machine fell on Rebel tanks and the battle was won. The Rebels didn't mess with the Galactic Droid Empire from then on.

Shriek Jedi

The two masters duel.

After the terrible defeat of the Empire at the Battle of Endor, Tyler had more time and space to explore the surrounding areas without coming into contact with the Empire. OOM-6 and OOM-4, two command droids, were on a mission to mine some rocks out of the surrounding asteroids of a nearby planet when they picked up a life signal coming from the planet. They called for Tyler and they took a shuttle down to investigate. What they found was a planet full of deep canyons. They followed the life signal to the bottom of a canyon and saw a small hut made of rocks and mud. Tyler whispered to the other droids to be quiet whil he goes in. He took out his lightsaber but didn't ignite it. Suddenly, a purple alien with one eye and a blue mustache. The being suddenly disappeared. "What was that?" Tyler asked OOM-6. "That was a species known as the Shrieks. Homeworld: Endor. Habitat: Hollow tr--," OOM-6 was cut off when the being reappeared right in front of Tyler. He pulled out a lightsaber and ignited it. Tyler ignited his. The two dueled while OOM-6 and 4 tried to figure out who the monster was. They couldn't find a name, but he was co-general of the Galactic Marines along with Ki-Adi Mundi and fought on Mygeeto. He escaped Order 66 by hiding on a Vulture droid and flying to this planet. The Shriek Jedi fought bravely, but was no match for the power of Tyler. Tyler grabbed him by the neck and choked him to death. He threw the Shriek onto the ground and went back to his ship.

Later, he found another army called the Steel Legion, lead by a ruthless battle droid named Unit 8311. Following a dispute between the two governments, a battle commenced over the planet Nar Shadda, which raged on for a few weeks. Tyler and 8311 both dueled each other in a factory, both trying hard to win. As both were battle droids, they found it hard to control their anger, and Tyler even lost an arm. Tyler's lightning blasted a stain on 8311's armor. The entire battle was chaos in space and on the surface. Soon after, both armies neared depletion and Tyler could not afford to lose. 8311 agreed, and a treaty was signed. 8311 and Tyler both found each other helping the opposite out.

New Confederacy of Independent Systems

As Tyler was expanding his Galactic Droid Empire, he soon came upon a world called Cyrillia. He found that another CIS-based government was there, as well, called the New confederacy. Both governments said that the planet was theirs. Tyler and the leader of the New confederacy, Troyb went into a huge battle above the planet, ending in a draw. As each government surrendered to the other, they decided to merge their governments together, called the New CIS/GDE.

File:CIS Worldship.png

The CIS worldship.

As Tyler and Troyb conquered every world known, they came across a Yuuzhan Vong worldship. They disabled it and then took all the Vong onboard as slaves. After making them slaves, they added upgraded weaponry and other targeting systems on the ships. Tyler's droids painted the CIS symbol on top. The worldship had became part of the fleet. The Warlord, as it was called by Troyb, helped conquer Coruscant and many other planets. However, 1/2 of the galaxy still needed to be conquered. More work needed to be done. This wasn't over.

New Republic

After the capture of the Warlord, New Republic Jedi soon discovered the ship. They believed it to be a Yuuzhan Vong ship at the time. However, when they scanned, they picked up only two life forms—Troyb and a fellow Neimoidian aide. When they scanned for droids, they picked up several thousand. They engaged the ship in a space battle over Cordes. The New CIS/GDE won after a long fight.

Over Jestefad, the gas giant that Mustafar was under control of, a New CIS ship was transporting Darth Tyler and Troyb to a conference with the New Republic. Little did they know, it was a trap to kill Tyler & Troyb. They soon killed every person in the trap and escaped.

As the New Republic started to attack the New CIS/GDE's worlds, they attacked Cato Neimoidia. The New CIS/GDE responded with loads of ships, easily beating back the first wave of X-Wings and Y-Wings. However, a new ship approached: a Y-180 Devastator. It was a new ship built by the Republic. Soon, Troyb and Tyler stole the plans for the ship and exploited the weakness. The battle was won.

New Empire

Unbeknownest to the new Empire or the new Sith order that was being created in the legacy era, the New CIS/GDE was getting stronger. On a mission to an asteroid earlier before, Tyler's lightsaber became worn out after so much use. Searching for a suitable place to find a lightsaber crystal for Tyler, Troyb came across Boordii, a planet in the Outer Rim that had many diamonds and crystals. However, the new Empire was already there and were willing to defend their planet.

The Empire sent in a fleet of new Star Destroyers and the New CIS/GDE sent in the Warlord, Medal, and Federation Swarm. With the three most powerful ships in the navy, they easily beat back the blockade. On foot, several stormtroopers attacked Tyler. Tyler easily killed all of them and stole their supply of lightsaber crystals.

As the New CIS/GDE Wars moved on, the New Empire rebuilt the Star Forge. They hid the plans for the weapon in a secret facility on Polis Massa. Darth Tyler felt the presence of Sith once again and told Troyb. They followed Tyler's senses to Polis Massa, and the New Empire was ready for a fight.
As Troyb engaged the New Empire in combat above Polis Massa, and Tyler and a few Neimoidians went down to disable the ancient Rakatan weapon. Troyb was taking and giving heavy fire, so Tyler needed to hurry. On his way down, he met Grashk, a Wookiee bounty hunter hired to kill Tyler. Tyler skillfully blocked the lasers from Grashk and killed him. He stole the schematics and left. After disabling the Star Forge and taking it, Troyb and Tyler once again saved the day.

Darth Tyler went to Jentawui to collect special minerals in the ice for the New confederacy. Soon, Darth Wyyrlok arrived and they noticed each other, and engaged in a duel. Tyler started out in a typical Zastra attack stance, showing Wyyrlok he opposed him. Wyyrlok answered with a Soresu attack stance. They then started fighting each other, Tyler trying to exhaust Wyyrlok with Zastra. Tyler, seeing Wyyrlok was not getting exhausted, Force pushed Wyyrlok into an ice cave. Tyler Force ran in and blocked the exit with several rocks. As he did this, he forgot that the entrance was the only opening for sunlight.
Now that there wasn't any sunlight, the only form of light was their lightsabers, making it harder to fight. However, Tyler's built-in battle droid eyes were capable of lighting his way. After a long while, Tyler eventually stabbed Wyyrlok in the chest, killing him.

Troyb and Tyler attacked Kashyyyk to get slaves to help build the Star Forge II. During the battle, Tyler killed Citrakata, the Wookiee leader, and Troyb successfully outmaneuvered the Wookiees, bringing them to victory. The Wookiees were later taken to Polis Massa to help with the construction.

In Control of the New CIS/GDE

After a while, Tyler took an Abyssin apprentice named Darth Adrsti. Adrsti, power-hungry and independent, would often try to kill Tyler. Tyler always settled these fights, and would always tell Adrsti to stop because he will never succeed. However, Adrsti challenged him to a fight on the volcanic planet of Eos one day, and a massive duel began.

Adrsti had the upper-hand throughout the entire fight until the very end, when Tyler stabbed him through the chest, seeing there was no way for Adrsti to become faithful to his master. After Troyb passed away, Tyler took over as leader of the New CIS/GDE and Tyler ruled the galaxy for thousands of years. It is unknown what happened to him, if anything happened to him, after this.

Personality, traits, and abilities

Tyler was very aggressive in combat, and was often in a trance when in battle. This helped him win several battles, as his kill rate was very high. He was an excellent natural leader, as he lead the entire Galactic Droid Empire and he lead the New Confederacy of Independent Systems droid army. The only person he was exceptionally loyal to was his friend Troyb, who he met during the Invasion of Naboo and again during the Battle of Cyrillia.

Tyler often received flack and negative opinions on him, because many people did not like the idea of a droid being a Sith. The Jedi during the Clone Wars, especially, did not like Tyler. Tyler often disguised himself as a regular security droid to lure Jedi to him, and would then kill the Jedi with his lightsaber.

Tyler also was a very independent person, as he never became an apprentice to anyone. He would often ignore his leaders while in the Trade Federation army, which resulted in him being yelled at by his Neimoidian superiors. However, because of his high kill rate at Naboo, he was kept in the army. Tyler never immediately got along with anyone, not even Troyb. Instead, the two would have to gradually grow their friendship.

It is unknown how Tyler achieved the Force or how he was cut off from the control signal. He was a master of almost all forms of lightsaber combat, starting with Soresu. He was able to use Force lightning, even as a droid.

He wore a black cape and the dark-red ranking of a security droid, and carried his lightsaber by his left leg. He was very intelligent in strategy, but could sometimes be overconfident in his dark side abilities. He could easily out run any opponent, having mastery of Force run. He could Force jump and spin in any way he wanted to. He even created a new style of lightsaber combatForm XLII: Zastra. He is the only known user of this style.

Tyler was also a not-native speaker of Kel Dor, which he learned in the Sith temples on Agon Nine. He used it to get many Kel Dor technicians into the Galactic Droid Empire, and thus, the New Confederacy as well. He also knew the written langauge, and would often write important top-secret documents in Kel Dor so only his technicians could read it. Tyler also owned a DT-48-15 Datapad created by Xechsci Technologies.
