Darth Tarjan, born Santares IX, was the Prince of the Mid-rim world of Shu-Torun . Seeking the power to halt the democratic reformation of the Shu-Torun Monarchy, Tarjan would engage in open rebellion against his father the King before ascending to Sith Lordship and usurping control of the planet and restoring the autocratic power of the monarchy.

Though his training was incomplete, Tarjan conferred the title of Sith Lord upon himself when he successfully located and Bled the Meetra Surik Crystal.
