Darth Rivan, born Telat Konua Dal, was a Zelosian male Dark Lord of the Sith who reigned during the New Sith Wars.
Biography[]
Telat Konua Dal was born on Zelos II and was discovered to be Force sensitive by his parents at an early age. However, due to the tumultuous New Sith Wars that were occurring at the time, the Jedi Order were unable to detect him and bring him in for training. When he was on the cusp of turning eighteen, he was found by members of the Order of Revan, a cult that worshiped the ancient Sith Lord Darth Revan, and recruited into their ranks.[1]
Over the course of his training, Telat learned of the teaching of the Sith and was particularly drawn to the Creed of Ruin. Against the wishes of his masters, Telat left the Revanite cult and used what he had learned to declare himself a Sith Lord,[1][5] taking on the name "Darth Rivan"—taken from a misspelling of Darth Revan's name from a corrupted manuscript.[3] Eventually declaring himself Dark Lord of the Sith, his rule was contested by Belia Darzu, a Shi'ido Sith Lady who rejected the Darth cult and creed that Rivan adhered to.[5]
After being usurped by Darzu,[5] Rivan retreated to the uncharted Cularin system, where he established a fortress on the planet Almas. In his quest to create the Sith battlelords, Rivan experimented on his apprentice Darsin, who ultimately perished as a result. He also came upon the Darkstaff.[2]
When the Jedi attacked his fortress, Darth Rivan fled and attempted to harness the Darkstaff's power, only for it to send him and his second apprentice Arrakad several centuries into the future, ending up on Ruusan. His power drained, Rivan was slain by his apprentice.[2][5]
