Darth Ramage also known as The Lightningflare was a male Kiffar Dark Lord of the Sith and scientist who was part of the lineage of Darth Bane. During his lifetime, Ramage created a Sith holocron that contained instructions relating to the combination of bota and pyronium. Ramage also performed experiments on the Cephalons, a sentient species that could perceive past and future events through time, to explore the possibility of harnessing the power of time travel. He would later found Clan Lightningflare on Osadia.
In 18 BBY, Darth Vader attempted to track down the holocron after it was stolen from him, since he believed that Ramage's instructions would aid his efforts to use bota and pyronium to augment his connection to the Force. While Ramage's instructions would have been helpful to Lord Vader's quest, they were not vital, and Vader was unconcerned when he was unable to recover the holocron.
History[]
Darth Ramage was the apprentice to an unknown Sith Lord who followed Darth Bane's Rule of Two doctrine, known as Chwayatyun in Sith and also called the Banite system which states that there can be only two Sith at one time, a Master and an Apprentice, guaranteeing that when the Apprentice becomes powerful enough in the ways of the dark side to take the title of Master, only then would they be worthy of the title. This transfer of power would only take place when the Apprentice takes their Master's life and finds a worthy student to repeat the cycle. He chose the name Darth Ramage as his new name and completely devoted himself to the teachings of his master and vowed to do his master's bidding no matter how horrific it may be.
Trandosha Genocide[]
At some point during his training he and his master disguised as Jedi Knights to hide their identity as Sith, both invaded multiple Trandosha cities such as the capital city, Hsskhor and invaded approximately one hundred villages around the planet successfully slaughtering thousands of Trandoshan citizens as well as some Wookies on the planet at the time. This horrific mass murder was known as the Trandosha Genocide. The Jedi Council could only assume Ramage and his master were rogue Jedi because of the fact that they had no knowledge that the Sith had survived. Ramage and his master were never caught or identified which led the investigation to a halt.
Betrayal[]
During his apprenticeship, Ramage created a Sith holocron that contained instructions relating to the combination of bota and pyronium. Ramage also performed experiments on the Cephalons, a sentient species that could perceive past and future events through time, to explore the possibility of harnessing the power of time travel. Obsessed with the thought of time travel, rather than focusing on his master's plan to eliminate the Jedi, his master deemed him not worthy to take his place and attempted to kill Ramage.
