Darth Octillious was originally born on Iridonia as Tu’hil Urbek in the year 67 BBY. Trained by Darth Sidious, he became a deadly Sith apprentice. It was only natural that when a planet inhabited by Force-sensitives appeared that he would want to recruit more to his side. This planet happened to be Nonderan. On the forest world of Nonderan he hired Dark Jedi to attack cities and Jedi. This led to the Jedi finding him. Eventually he left the planet with his followers and traveled throughout the galaxy to kill lone Jedi.

At the start of the Clone Wars however, he changed his plans. He led numerous attacks on bases to clear the way for Separatists. On one occasion he even fought Anakin Skywalker, although he failed that mission. As he progressed his supporters grew drastically in number. At its height, the number of Dark Jedi was around sixty. The Jedi grew to fear this army, and in 20 BBY decided to destroy it. After a rough battle on Cerea only 8 remained. Octillious took the survivors into hiding for the time being. He resurfaced during Order: 66 and was commanded to help Vader kill off any surviving Jedi. After that venture however, Darth Vader betrayed him and nearly killed him. Managing to escape, he went back into hiding. Eventually he was found and killed by three Jedi on Korriban.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

He was born and raised from evil. As far as I'm concerned there is no good within him.
—Durja Lanew

Life growing up on Iridonia was harsh, turning a young Tu'hil Urubek into a hearty criminal along with his older brothers Eu'rif and Gan'hil. Discovered by the Jedi, Tu'hil was to be taken to the Jedi Temple for training. On the way there however, pirates attacked their ship and it crashed on Coruscant. Palpatine found Tu'hil in the crash site and raised him. It was then that Tu'hil learned of the dark side of the force and theSith. Palpatine trained him to use the force and took Tu'hil Urbek as an apprentice. From now on he would be known as Darth Octillious.

Nonderan[]

When the Senate was informed about Nonderan, a planet whose inhabitants were naturally force-sensitive, Palpatine knew what to do. He sent his apprentice to Nonderan to recruit forces to help destroy the Jedi. As he landed, Darth Octillious immediately got to work.

He rounded up groups of natives at a time and told them of the force. Once they were strong enough he would send them into cities to wreak havoc. As a retaliation the colonizers sent Jedi to fight off their enemies.

When they did the percent of Dark Jedi whom don't return doubled. Growing ever more furious with the deaths of his followers Darth Octillious launched entire groups of Dark Jedi to raid cities. To resolve this, the Jedi made an encampment in the wilderness to meet the groups and cults before they meet the colonizers. With his patience completely depleted he attacked the Jedi himself. After multiple conflicts he met his match when a Jedi named Durja Lanew confronted him. At the end of a vicious duel Darth Octillious had his right hand cut off by Durja. Shocked and desperate, he fled into the wilderness.

Clone Wars[]

When the Clone Wars struck, Darth Octillious was directly in the middle of it. Sidious ordered him to hunt down Jedi throughout the galaxy. His first hunt took him to Malastare where two Jedi were on a mission on the planet. Octillious ambushed them with the first chance he had. His followers killed the first Jedi easily, but the second put up a violent fight. Eventually he too was struck down by the followers. Soon afterwards he departed and flew to Onderon where a Jedi was leading an army. The Sith had to be cautious and not alert the clones. He eventually found his chance when the Jedi and four clones scouted an area. Out of the view of the army Darth Octillious slaughtered all five of them. Just afterwards though, Darth Sidious ordered him to travel back to Nonderan. Sidious told him that the Jedi there

are leaving and now the planet will be virtually defenseless. Excited, he imediately departed. Along the way though, they came upon the fleet of Durja Lanew. Durja's fleet sent the small brigade of Seperatist ships scattering to safety. This failure infuriated Sidious. As a way to redeem him, Darth Sidious sent his apprentice to Corellia to kill a group of six Jedi there. Darth Octillious did as he was told. He flew to Corellia and followed the ripple in the force caused by the group of Jedi. Finally the Jedi were found in a rural community. Sensing the dark side of the force, the six Jedi drew their lightsabers. Seeing that, Darth Octillious drew his own and so did his followers. After a fierce battle Octillious finally had killed them all. Deciding to reveal what happened there, Octillious sent a message to Coruscant. He knew that it would upset the Jedi High Council. He then waited for the arrival of Jedi that were sent to kill him. In return, Jedi Knight Glea Talle was sent to kill him.

They met on the top of a skyscraper where both drew their lightsabers and fought. Darth Octillious easily drive his Felisk opponent near the ledge of the building and they clashed. The Sith, through little effort, won the clash and used force lightning to blast Glea off of the skyscraper. However, Glea Talle landed on another rooftop and beckoned for her enemy to come. As commanded, he charged at the Jedi. He jumped over the abyss below and tried to land behind Glea, who tried to kill Darth Octillious with a mine similar to the one that Obi-Wan used to win the Duel on Mustafar. It failed and Octillious, in turn, tried to cut her arm off but he also failed. They resumed their duel, but before long, another Jedi by the name of Zer Almni came in above Darth Octillious and landed in a three-way clash. Octillious pushed the new Jedi aside and assaulted Glea with venomous fury. They clashed, but he brolke it, knocked her in the air with force push, zapped her and kept her in the air with a combination of force lightning and force hold and then pulled her back and stabbed her in the chest. Next, he went for Zer Almni with force lightning flowing through and around his lightsaber. He clashed with his foe and then used the force lightning to break it. Without a moment's notice, he then cut into the Jedi with the lightning-enhanced lightsaber, killing him instantly. Thinking that Glea was also dead, he left.

Order: 66[]

When the order was launched Darth Sidious told Darth Octillious to hunt for Jedi with the newly armored Darth Vader. They picked up a strong ripple in the force, probably Jedi grouping together. The two Sith decided followed it as if it were a beacon. They eventually found the Jedi on the ice planet Needan. Octillious charged at fourteen Jedi, killing two instantly and with a little effort killed three more. Vader on the other hand waited for the battle to end. Darth Octillious killed a total of six before he finally retreated back to Darth Vader. Now both Sith attacked the Jedi, killing them all.

Relieved that the battle was over Darth Octillious put his lightsaber away. Just then, Vader betrayed him, stabbing Darth Octillious in the chest and force pushing him off a cliff. When Darth Octillious finally regained consciousness he crawled up the ledge to find a transmitter in the snow. When switching it on he saw a hologram of Darth Sidious explaining that he ordered Vader to betray him, and that he would only have one apprentice. Afterwards, Darth Octillious wandered aimlessly around the landscape, searching for a way off the planet. Eventually he found a city where he stole a ship and went to Korriban in hiding. He couldn't risk another attack from the Jedi or Darth Vader.

Death[]

And so I die... at the hands... of a... Jedi.
—Darth Octillious speaking his last words

In the year 4 ABY he was discovered by three Jedi, two of which were from Nonderan. The Jedi Eltva Matek, Durja Lanew and Kau-Ja Manew gathered around him. He had a brief discussion with Durja and then they all drew their lightsabers. As they came in the first time Darth Octillious repelled them with ease. The two Jedi he saw on Nonderan, Durja and Kau-Ja charged back but Octillious was more than ready. He blasted them back with a combination of force push and force lightning. Now he assulted Eltva. The two seemed to be evenly matched until he grabbed Eltva's arm, twisted it around his opponent's back and stabbed him in the chest. Durja recovered by then and charged. The two resumed their duel. Soon however, the Zabrak was overwhelmed and knocked to the ground. He raised his saber to block a slash from Durja, causing a fierce clash. The movement caused his sleeve to fall, exposing the prosthetic right hand. Reminded that he was fighting the person whom did that to him, he scloded Durja. He then kicked the Jedi aside and got to his feet. The Jedi and Sith attacked eachother again but Durja quickly took advantage of an opening. The Jedi pushed Darth Octillious's lightsaber aside and stabbed him in the chest. The defeated Sith fell to his knees, waited a moment and died.

Continuing as a Spirit[]

The New Jedi Order will not last. The Jedi within it are too weak. Only if they use all sections of the force ,light and dark, will they be one with it, and only then will they thrive. Believe me when I say that if the force isn't put to good use it will be their downfall. After all, the Jedi are meant to use the force. That's their signature in this galaxy and their only advantage against enemies. Why not get to know your advantage a little more?
—Octillious's spirit trying to corrupt Kau-Ja Manew

Death was not the end of Darth Octillious. As many force-sensitives did, he came back as a spirit. He decided that if if hedidn't already he would make a name for himself. Many times he tried to corrupt Jedi in visions, but he always failed. Eventually he came across Kau-Ja Manew. Since he knew that Nonderanians corrupt easily, he went for this chance to keep the dark side alive. Again and again he attempted to speak to him but the Jedi wouldn't listen. Octillious tried one last time on Kamino where Kau-Ja was with Durja Lanew, trying to get the cloners to make a new army for them. Darth Octillious said that the new order was weak and that it can only last if they exploited all of the force. As he continued he knew he was making progress. He knew that Kau-Ja Manew was corrupting. When he succeeded he told the Nonderanian that Durja would try to stop him. He was right, and apparently Kau-Ja was so thoroughly corrupted that he activated his lightsaber and tried to kill Durja. Amused, Darth Octillious watched the duel, but to his suprise Kau-Ja lost and almost died. Infuriated, he never appeared to either of them again. He tried to corrupt more Jedi afterwards but usually failed. He stopped appearing all together in 50 ABY until 139 ABY when he appeared in front of Darth Octil. Octil spoke with his ancestor Darth Octillious about the Sith of Octil and the Octil Empire for a few minutes before the force ghost disappeared, never to return again.

Legacy[]

Darth Octillious' Sith holocron

The legacy of the ruthless Darth Octillious lasted for centuries. Darth Octil named himself after his anestor. The name Octil would be used in many of the things that Darth Octil made such as the Sith of Octil and the Octil Empire. The Octil Empire lasted from 139 ABY to 353 ABY, same as the Sith of Octil. Because of this, the Jedi as well as the rest of the galaxy remembered Darth Octillious as the Sith who inspired an empire. A holocron that he made during his time on Korriban was discovered in 212 ABY and used as a source of information and wisdom by the Sith of Octil. The holocron told them how to plot the best attack formations during the Octil Civil War and when to strike enemies. The Octil Empire benefited from the holocron on numerous occasions. In 353 ABY when the empire fell, the holocron was lost and in time forgotten. an excavation into the swamplands of Dagobah in 513 ABY let the holocron resurface. It was put in the Free Sith archives.

Personality Traits[]

Tu'hil Urbek was a restless, ill-tempered Zabrak. As a child on Iridonia he would attack anyone who would even look at him the wrong way. Due to that he never completely understood why the Jedi were taking him anyway. While an apprentice he often infuriated his master, sometimes to the point where his master would draw his lightsaber and threaten his life. Darth Octillious eventually learned to obey Darth Sidious, although he still didn't enjoy it. On missions his aggressive behavior would usually lead to him gaining numerous enemies. He particularly despised Jedi Knight Durja Lanew for cutting his hand off. His personality did give him an edge in lightsaber combat though. With his violent rage he used extremely hard and quick strokes with the blade, making it difficult for an opponent to defend or attack. This attitude ultimately led to his downfall in 4 ABY when Durja Lanew, Kau-Ja Manew and a third Jedi named Eltva Matek confronted and killed him. He was so infuriated that it completely blocked his judgement and only managed to kill Eltva Matek.
