A void in the Force he is. Skeletal, empty, Hiljo is an emblem of the dark side's corrupting power. He fed upon the dark side and now, consumed, he pays the price. But his power is undeniable, if he survives this war, I believe we'll be having a serious contender for the throne.

Darth Hiljo was a powerful humanoid Sith Lord of the Sith Order of Decreto, and Commander of the Home Fleet during the Zao tenj War. One of the Order's best strategists and greatest military assets, Hiljo was feared throughout the galaxy, by friend and foe alike for his highly destructive tactics.

Born on the outskirts of the Empire, on a desolate Outer Rim planet, Hiljo was inducted into the Sith Order just days after his birth, as soon as his Force-sensitivity could be confirmed. Spending the first sixteen years of his life as a part of a Sith pack, Hiljo eventually gained entrance to the prestigious Sith Academy on Korriban. Once there, the Sith warrior trained for a further nine years before being taken as an apprentice, although this relationship did not last long.

Betraying his Master, who was attempting to break the Rule of One, to the Sith Council, Hiljo was taken as the apprentice of the Dark Lord of the Decreton EmpireDarth Wyyrlok – and continued his apprentiship until his eventual promotion to the rank of Sith Lord. Hiljo would later become notable as the first Sith in over 150 years to combat a Jedi of the Jedi Autocracy; and would continue to bare an intense rivalry with the Jedi Knight.

A strong proponent of military expansion through the Sith expansionary campaign, Hiljo was thrust into military service as Commander of the Home Fleet upon the outbreak of the Zao tenj War, but was initially defeated by the invaders during the Battle of the abyss. Hiljo survived the battle, and continued to lead the Sith defense of the galaxy, eventually being forced to serve alongside his Jedi rival, Jehn Rhin, during the Battle of Hardpoint One.

Biography[]

A Sith apprentice[]

Born on a desolate Sith world, deep in the Outer Rim, in 218 ABY, Hiljo was taken from his family just days after his birth to be inducted into the Sith Order. Taken to the local governmental center – the planet Kamino – Hiljo was adopted by one of the local Sith teachers into her Sith pack, where he would spend the first sixteen years of his life training in the ways of the Sith.

Hiljo's training commenced in earnest, and for sixteen years he trained as any Sith prospective would, eventually passing his trials just one year before deadline. Despite this late pass however, his scores were exemplary, gaining him entrance to the prestigious Sith academy of Korriban.

After his initial training it was time for Hiljo to be taken on as an apprentice. And so, at the age of twenty-five he and nine other pupils were presented to four Sith Knights; each of whom needed an apprentice. Those who were not chosen were to be sent far into the Unknown Regions for unknown purposes. After several hours of inspection and questioning only five remained; including Hiljo.

Determined to be chosen Hiljo proceeded to eliminate his rivals in order to force the remaining Sith Lord's hand. The Sith Lord, impressed with Hiljo's determination and cunning (and the fact that he was the only remaining choice) took Hiljo as his apprentice.

Becoming a master[]

After several years of intensive training Hiljo realized that he had unwittingly been assisting his master in securing his own position within the hierarchy; something that Hiljo had been warned against by the Sith Academy's many teachers.

He realized that it would not be long before his master decided that Hiljo was too great a threat to be left alive, and that he would soon be betrayed. And so he decided to initiate his own preemptive strike against his master.

Betrayal[]

One day, when Hiljo's master was due at the Sith Council, he struck. Executing his rival and securing his position amongst his master's followers; Hiljo declared that his master had breached the sacred Rule of One and was in effect, no longer a Sith Lord.

Ordering his new fleet to Korriban Hiljo sent an emergency transmission to the "Sith Home Fleet" that he was pursuing a traitor to the Dark Lord and that confronting him would effectively be declaring their own treachery. With the approval of Darth Wyyrlok – who had been apprised of the situation – the fleet not only stood down but allied themselves with Hiljo's fleet.

In the meanwhile, the Sith Council, which had been adjourned since Darth Wyyrlok had been informed, reconvened in order to continue its discussions. Darth Wyyrlok put forward the discussion of removing the coveted Rule of One, saying that it could be stifling the growth of the Sith Order. As he posed this question to the would be traitor Hiljo appeared through the doors of the Council room and challenged his former Master to a duel, proclaiming himself a Sith Lord and revealing his former master's treachery to the entire council.

But Wyyrlok refused to allow the duel to commence, reflecting Hiljo's attack with his own blade, saying that no blood was to be spilt on the Council–room's floor. He then proceeded to Choke the traitor with his knowledge of the Force, killing him without spilling any blood.

Promotion[]

Hiljo was then confronted by the Dark Lord and informed that his self-proclamation to the rank of Sith Lord was completely unearned and illegal, but his determination to eliminate the traitor warranted a reward. Asking what reward he wanted, Hiljo chose promotion to the rank of Sith Lord; realising that he would inherit his former master's entire realm.

After being granted the rank of Sith Lord, Hiljo was ordered to defend his Emperor and remain loyal to him, and was offered to chance to become the Dark Lord's apprentice; and offer which Hiljo accepted instantly.

Rivalry[]

Darkjehn

Jehn Rhin, Jedi Knight

Hiljo was order to the planet Adumar, to uncover an illegal arms factory set up by pirates, and to destroy it if need-be. Unbeknownst to Hiljo however was that the New Jedi Order, which had been in hiding since the fall of Coruscant in 74 ABY, had also sent one of their own — a Jedi Knight named Jehn Rhin — to uncover the arms factory and, if possible secure a shipment of weapons for the Jedi Order.

Inevitably, the Jedi Knight and the Sith Lord met. For both, it was the first time that they had encountered their sworn enemy and as such neither was prepared for words.

Although the result of this first duel proved Hiljo the greater sword-master, Jehn managed to escape with the weapons shipment and over the next year the two would consistently run into each other until, by the end of the year, it was said that Jehn Rhin knew Hiljo better than he did himself. But that very year things took a turn for the worse in galactic-terms when the Zao tenj invaded.

Hiljo was called away from his mission to destroy the Jedi Rhin and was instead ordered to destroy the oncoming storm. Hiljo managed to stall the invasion fleet and warn his master of the threat posed by the Zao tenj. It would not be until the year 246 ABY that the Zao tenj would prove that they had the power not only to destroy the Sith, but force them to unite with their greatest enemy – the Jedi.

Full scale war[]

Even before the Zao tenj invasion had penetrated the Empire enough for the Sith Lords to be truly concerned, Darth Wyyrlok, and Tai painj, Grand Master of the Jedi Order, had decided upon an alliance, to strengthen the galaxy.

As a symbol of the alliance, Jehn Rhin was placed under the command of Darth Wyyrlok and ordered to defended Hardpoint One. Inevitably, this brought him into conflict with Darth Hiljo, but neither could act upon the rivalry.

When the Zao tenj invasion forces finally reached Harpoint One the Alliance forces fought them to a standstill. Hiljo often cited his previous experiences with the Zao tenj as justification for his actions, but was impressed by the tactical knowledge and skill of the Jedi Rhin.

By the close of the battle, although the two still hated one another, they had gained a mutual respect for one another's skill and reliance. The Alliance had achieved their first victory over the Zao tenj.

But it was not all joys that day, for just hours later, Tai painj was soundly defeated by the main Zao tenj fleet at Chuck's drift, which left over half the galaxy open to invasion.

Personality and traits[]

Darth Hiljo's personality was, like many of his fellow Sith Lords, one centered around power.

The Sith of the Sith Order of Decreto were amongst the most powerful in history, combining the training techniques of the Jedi and Sith together, as well as utilizing the long-learned techniques already implemented by the Decreton Order.

His power though, was undeniably focused around his skill with telekinesis and his amazing knowledge of tactics. He was considered by many top be the foremast military tactician of his age, surpassing even the skill shown by Darth Wyyrlok, he believed.

Despite his emphasis on weapon-free combat, Hiljo was an accomplished lightsaber duelist and skilled warrior, using his mastery of Jar'kai to great affect.

Darth Hiljo was a sufferer of Power syndrome.
