The D-series exterminator droid was a battle droid series manufactured exclusively by Santose Systems for the Declon to use in battle. The series was later used by the Rutanno.

History[]

Dalek67

The original D-0 prototype.

When the planet Santose joined the splinter government known as the Declon, its famous droid manufacturing company, Santose Systems, was commissioned to create battle droids for the Declon to wield in combat. The end result of this project was the creation of the D-series exterminator droid, the C-Series Battle Droid, and the T-N Assassin Droid. Declon leader Porro Linn favored the D-Series and used it primarily during his attempted coup against the New Republic.

D-0 model[]

The D-series went through several phases before its design was perfected. The initial D-0 design was similar to the final D-5 model, though its indicator diodes that flashed with its speech were uncovered, and its eyestalk design was different. This model was unable to move in non-horizontal paths, and had no ability to interchange weapons.

D-1 model[]

A D-1 model using its hover jets.

With this model, the droid could now use built-in hover jets to ascend vertical distances. However, it still had an issue with its inability to interchange weapons. Cosmetically, the only difference with this model was that it had a white-and-gold color scheme.

D-2 model[]

This model was dramatically different in design. It had a single cannon in the middle of its body and possessed no eyestalk. This model was almost immediately rejected by Porro Linn, citing the fact that the inability of each droid to use different weapons was made even worse than it had been before.

D-3 model[]

The D-3 had an unorthodox dome and indicator diodes. It frustrated Porro Linn with its continued inability to exchange weapons.

This model was the last prototype model. It had a much larger dome to house a more powerful AI system for use in strategical thinking. It had indicator diodes across the back of its dome. Porro Linn liked the design but continued to be frustrated by the lack of an ability to switch weapons. Despite being still a prototype, this droid was used to remotely organize droid movements in the Declon War proper.

D-4 model[]

This model was smaller than all of the previous designs. This made Porro Linn unsure of its power, but he was delighted to discover that not only was its blaster more powerful than ever, it could switch different weapons onto its "plunger-stalk." This model was used in the early days of the Declon War, until the D-5 model made its debut in the Battle of Naboo.

D-5 model[]

Victory dalek supreme

A general-class D-5 model.

This was the final model of the D-series. It was the tallest model yet, due to the extra energy it needed to store for its blaster, which was the most powerful of all the D-series, even more so than the D-2's impressive power. It was used in the last battles of the war and, after that ended, by Porro Limm's splinter group, the Rutanno.

The D-5 droids were color-coded based on their rank in the Declon armed forces.
