The Cybe sector, officially the Cyberean sector, the Cyberean or Trans-Cyberean sector, was the name given to the number of star systems located in the Outer Rim Territories near the planet Cybe. The sector included the planets Aradan and Cestea, and a trade route, the Cyberlane, traversed through it.
The Cybe sector was protected by the Cybe Sector Defense Forces prior and during its membership in the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire.
The 666th Elite Legion was stationed in this sector during the Clone Wars.
Description[]
The Cybe sector, often called the Aradan sector in early days, encompassed a number of star systems in the Outer Rim Territories, the Unknown Regions and Wild Space, essentially drawing the borders between the regions. The Teverae Nebula lay center east from Aradan and divided the inhabited planets from the uninhabited planets Remus, Babylon and Obitus.
Within the nebula lay Ascendant Rock, a former pirate base used by pirate lord Morthyrus V Vaine and asteroid slowly adrift.
History[]
Great Peace[]
Prior to the Clone Wars, much of the Cybe sector was owned by the Kingdom of Aradan. At this time, the naming of the sector was a topic of continuous debate, until after the disbandment of the kingdom.
After the kingdom disbanded, the Cybe Sector Defense Forces became the premier defence forces of the sector.
Clone Wars[]
The sector had joined the Galactic Republic by 22 BBY, and Cybe Drives made minor contributions to the Republic Navy.
The 666th Elite Legion, a clone trooper unit was stationed in this sector, serving as its headquarters.
In 19 BBY, as part of the Cybe theater, Cybe was the site of a battle between the Republic and the Separatists, but resulted in a Republic victory.
Dark Times and after Endor[]
Most of the Cybe sector was governed by Moff Cass Janir from 19 BBY onwards.
The sector was only partially integrated into the Galactic Empire, forces loyal to the Royal Houses of Aradan erased star-charts of the Obitus subsector, and the planet Povis outright refused Imperial authority. However, most star systems had been forgotten by the Empire, but Cybe had become the site of an Imperial shipyard, producing warships for the Imperial Navy.
Around 3 BBY, admiral Norven Loyaler established his base of operations on Aradan and garnered great influence. This led Norven into indirect conflict with Moff Janir.
After the battle of Endor, the Moff gone rogue set up his own faction, the Aradan Union, and maintained control of the sector.
Following Norven's presumed demise however, the Aradan Sectorate, a democratic government, incorporating autocratic elements, was established, led by Jevron Loyaler, Norven's illegitimate son.
In 17 ABY, the second Aradani Uprising destroyed the sectorate, and replaced it with the Commonwealth of Aradan.
