Crylbas was a Human[3] female pilot that flew within the Imperial Starfighter Corps during the reign of the Galactic Empire, holding the position of flight leader to her own fighter wing, which she continued to maintain throughout the Galactic Civil War. After the collapse of the Empire and its subsequent capitalisation to the New Republic, Crylbas remained faithful to the New Order and emerged from the chaos as a warlord that operated outside the borders of the Republic, rejecting the Galactic Concordance in favour of instead founding a surviving holdout formed from rogue elements of the Imperial Navy, which persevered through the New Republic Era and into the war between the Resistance and the First Order, a fascist military junta built from a neo-Imperial ideology founded by Imperial survivors like Crylbas herself.[1]

Despite her refusal to submit to the New Republic and sustained loyalty to the Galactic Empire as a source of secure order for the galaxy, Crylbas and her followers counted themselves among the various former personnel of the New Order that harboured little regard for the organization that sought its resurgence, becoming horrified with the destruction of the Hosnian system. Ultimately, when the galaxy fell under cataclysmic threat with the emergence of the Sith Eternal and the return of the resurrected Emperor Sheev Palpatine — who revealed himself to be the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious — during 35 ABY, Crylbas and her Imperial forces were driven to abandon their former antipathy towards the warring sides. Recognizing with disgust that the broadcast that had been issued announcing the survival of her former Emperor promised to plunge the galaxy that she loved into an eternal era of darkness, rather than the return of the order that she had fought to restore, Crylbas and her flight wing subsequently rallied to join the massive fleet of starships that rallied to fight against the Final Order at the desert planet Exegol, arriving to the battlespace aboard an Imperial-class Star Destroyer. During the ensuing battle against the armada of planet-killing Xyston-class Star Destroyers created by the cultists of the Sith Eternal, Crylbas and her TIE fighters engaged in combat against their Sith cousins, ultimately resulting in the death of Crylbas.[1]

Despite her death, however, the Resistance and their allies would ultimately emerge victorious and in the later months, Crylbas was mentioned in a book titled Imperial Legacy: Heroes and Hated of the Empire, which had been written to offer credit to the countless unsung heroes that had served the Empire during the nameless author's effort to encourage the citizens of the galaxy to understand, help and accept the thousands of captives that had been loyal to the First Order for no other reason than it was all they knew, rather than reject and persecute them as it had with their Imperial predecessors. In the book, the author named Crylbas to be one of numerous Imperials that had refused to surrender to the New Republic yet nevertheless rejected their former Emperor and fought bravely to prevent his return, giving their lives to protect a galaxy that they loved and had sworn to keep safe when they first joined the Empire.[1]
