The Crimson Imperium, also known as the Imperium, was a First Order splinter faction founded in 35 ABY and led by Corvus, a Stormtrooper Commander and Sith Acolyte, following the end of the galactic war between the First Order and the Resistance. The Crimson Imperium began as a secret movement during the war, infiltrating governments as it built up its power base. Corvus recruited powerful allies to his cause including military officers, government officials, and other Dark Side Adepts. The Crimson Imperium financed its operations by associating with criminal syndicates and taking part in illegal activities including slave trade, smuggling, gambling, and more. The Crimson Imperium established a presence on numerous planets from the Unknown Regions across the Outer, Mid, and Inner Rims that had come to believe in the New Order, with the Death Star III serving as the mobile capital, signifying the Imperium’s dominion in the galaxy.

The Galactic Empire and the Crimson Imperium shared many characteristics, such as centralized rule, a Force-Sensitive Emperor, a governing body, and xenophobia to a certain extent. Corvus formed the Imperial Knights, an organization of trained Force-Sensitive Dark Side Adepts tasked with serving the will of the Emperor and maintain order across the Crimson Imperium. The Imperium developed advanced technology from studying artifacts found in ancient ruins of the Rakata and Sith Empires, reverse engineering the technology of the ancients. The Council of Moffs was the governing body of the Imperium, led by a High Moff, the head of government. The Emperor ordered the construction of hidden mobile space station to serve as academies with training facilities for the Imperial Knights, as well as special forces units. For over a hundred years, the Crimson Imperium stood as a galactic power, before being reorganized into a Sith Imperium.

Government[]

The Crimson Imperium, like the Galactic Empire prior to 4 ABY, had an Emperor as the head of state, a sovereign ruler for life, yet the Moff Council, also known as the “Council of Blood”, held considerable power, and advised the Emperor. The Moffs not only governed sectors, but also managed both the Crimson Military and Crimson Intelligence, as well as other institutions, and held enough power to invoke treaties and to launch wars. In contrast to the Galactic Empire, it allowed aliens to serve on the council. The Crimson Knights were Dark Side Adepts who owed their loyalty to the Emperor and served as both bodyguards and enforcers of the Emperor. The Emperor wields ultimate authority over the entire Crimson Imperium. The Imperium was led by the Emperor Corvus until his death. Corvus delegated power to a number of high-ranking officers and advisers who oversaw the colonization of planets and the destruction of Imperium enemies.

Society[]

Religion[]

When the Crimson Imperium was first founded, there were a multitude of different religions and faiths spread throughout Imperium worlds. Unlike the Galactic Empire, organized religion and belief in the supernatural wasn’t outlawed and was permitted to be practiced so long as it did not interfere with Imperium rule.

Military[]

The Crimson Military was the military arm of the Crimson Imperium. Consisting of various branches of the armed forces such as the Crimson Army, the Crimson Navy, and the Stormtrooper Corps, it was responsible for conducting atmospheric and space military operations, carrying out the will of the Imperium, and maintaining order on Imperium member worlds, governorships, colonies, and protectorates. The Crimson Military formed a very important part of the government as it brought fear into the hearts of those who would oppose the Imperium. As a direct successor to the First Order Military, the Crimson Military comprised vast numbers of warships and countless soldiers. Having salvaged and repurposed a great deal of the vast First Order military resources, the Crimson Imperium is well equipped with a wide range of military personnel, vehicles, and technology. Crimson Intelligence worked in conjunction with the military to install and utilize loyalty officers and informants to ensure troops loyalty.

Crimson Army[]

The Crimson Army was the military branch responsible for ground warfare. It was created in the wake of the First Order's defeat, born from the remnants of the First Order Army. The role of the Crimson Army was surface superiority during instances of ground warfare, and were equipped with the means of seizing and defending a planet. The Army was composed of army troopers, army officers, engineers, vehicle commanders, walker pilots, and gunners. The Imperium employed a variety of ground assets for their ground operations, such as an arsenal of walkers, speeders, and other vehicles for transportation, artillery, and other objectives.

Crimson Navy[]

The Crimson Navy was the military branch responsible for space warfare. It was created in the wake of the First Order's defeat, born from the remnants of the First Order Navy. The role of the Crimson Navy was the absolute dominance of Imperium space, as well as enforcing the will of the Emperor. The Navy was composed of a number of corps, including the TIE Pilot Corps, which served as the Starfighter Corps, and the Transport Corps, a unit of pilots responsible for flying shuttles. The Navy would be paramount to the formation of the Crimson Imperium. It consisted of mainly Star Destroyers and TIE Fighters, which became symbols of Imperium rule.

Stormtrooper Corps[]

The Stormtrooper Corps of the Crimson Imperium was an independent military branch that operated alongside the Army and Navy of the Imperium. Existing as an elite, fanatically-loyal force of shock troopers, the Corps existed to impose the Emperor's will on the military ranks and civilian populace alike. In addition to standard units, the Corps possessed a variety of specialized troopers trained and equipped to function in various fields. When serving with the Navy, troopers acted as security on ships and stations as well as securing enemy ships for capture. When serving with the Army, troopers led ground assaults, and were deployed to the toughest fighting to take strategic targets. The Corps maintained its own command structure and training regimens, and generally relied on its own infrastructure for support. The reputation of the Corps was such that even their very presence acted as an effective deterrent against enemy saboteurs and aggressors.

Formed in the early years of the Empire, the 312th participated in combat operations during the Galactic Civil War and was comprised of TIE Series starfighters. Known for its successful reputation and talented pilots, the fighter wing was often mentioned as an example of what the best pilots and machines can do. After the Battle of Endor, the 312th was attached to the Imperial Remnant of Gallius Rax until the Empire's defeat at the Battle of Jakku, and later was attached to the Imperial Remnant of Rae Sloane. The fighter wing survived the fall of the Empire and the changeover from the Imperial Remnant to the First Order, serving the Empire's successor. When the Crimson Imperium rose from the defeat of the First Order, the 312th Fighter Wing went into the service of the newly born galactic government.

Crimson Legion[]

The 396th Legion, also known as the 396th or 396th Battalion and later known as the Crimson Fist, was an elite legion of First Order Stormtroopers under the command of Commander Corvus. At full strength, the 396th consisted of ten thousand Stormtroopers. The 396th consisted of standard troopers, although its ranks included various specialists, such as Special Forces troopers. To fulfill their respective roles within the legion, specific weapons and equipment were issued to each Stormtrooper variant. After the formation of the Crimson Imperium, the Stormtroopers of the 396th were re-designated Sith Troopers, the next evolution of Imperial soldier, and equipped with new armor and equipment. The Sith Troopers of the 396th operated as an elite military division in the armed forces of the Crimson Imperium for military campaigns and worked to defend Imperium territory. The elite legion served under the direct command of Emperor Corvus.

Crimson Intelligence[]

Crimson Intelligence, also known as Military Intelligence, was an espionage organization of the Crimson Imperium that provided services to the military, government, and Emperor. It was the primary intelligence service of the Crimson Imperium, dedicated to collecting information, secret and otherwise, for the Imperium. The organization made use of covert operations which it used to spy on its enemies as well as itself. They were also responsible for watching the activities of various governments, corporations and other forces in the galaxy. Furthermore, they kept an eye out for any notable mercenary, bounty hunters and other outlaw activities. They also supplied any information to the various military branches regarding any potential targets and strategies, which made them valuable despite being kept off the front lines. It was organized into central bureaus, themselves divided into divisions, and with various other units and operations in addition to the central bureaus.
