County Sunrunner was a noble title in the Peerage of Taris held by members of the noble House of Sunrunner. Though the Sunrunners were not among the oldest families on Taris, they produced a number of influential Tarisian politicians, military leaders, and public figures, including a number of Force-sensitive members.

The title was hereditary through the rule of absolute primogeniture, meaning that the eldest child of the peer would inherit the title, regardless of gender. Though the ancestral seat did not survive the Destruction of Taris by Darth Malak, the title and House continued through the Jedi Apostate, Suri Sunrunner.

Behind the scenes[]

As the author is an expert on matters of peerage, she elected to include some reference to nobility in her work, as the snobby, aristocratic nature of Tarisian Upper City culture simply begged for such an inclusion.

Though British peerage eschews the Continental European title of Count in favor of Earl from the Old Norse "jarl," the title of Count shows up often in Star Wars lore, including Count Dooku and the Count of Gesl.
