The Coruscant Jedi Temple, also known as the Main Jedi Temple, Palace of the Jedi or simply as the Jedi Temple was, from the ending of the Great Sith War to the Great Jedi Purge, the headquarters and main training location of the Jedi Order. Co-operated by the Order and the Ministry of Culture & History of the Galactic Republic, it had very few public areas, and was under protection of the Republic's Judicial Department. It was partially destroyed during the Great Jedi Purge in 19 BBY, but the destroyed parts were rebuilt in 15 ABY. The Temple is now under property of the United Jedi Order.

It is unknown how many floors the Jedi Temple had, but rumors said that it had at least six. The Coruscant Temple contained several rooms. Some of them were large, others small. A particular very large room was the Great Hall, a yellow-and-white-patterned room that had a staircase in each side. These staircases both ended in a long corridor that crossed all the Temple from side to side, on the second floor. The Hall also led to another long corridor on the first floor that started in the Hall and ended at the bottom of the Temple. It also contained the Masters' Headquarters, the Knights' Headquarters, the Padawans' Headquarters and the Younglings' Dormitory, as well as the Council Chamber and the Grandmaster's Headquarters. Other locations in the building were the training rooms and the Jedi Library, located on the third floor. The Temple contained a quite interesting room beneath it called the Vault, which kept the Order's riches.

The Great Hall was one of the largest rooms in the Coruscant Jedi Temple. It was at least one hundred meters long and one hundred meters wide, and it's ceilling was located at the top of the third floor. The Hall started at a huge metal double-door that was the entrance to the Temple. It had a wooden desk in which a Jedi Receptionist welcomed and often guided visitors throught the Temple.

Jedi Library[]

The Jedi Library was an immense room located on the third floor of the Jedi Temple, just adjacent to the third floor corridor. It contained the Jedi Archives, an enormous series of archives about the Galaxy. The Library comprised tens of shelves full of datacards, which together contained information about almost all events, planets, and technology in the Galaxy. It was managed by Jedi Master and Librarian Jocasta Nu, which office and quarters were located adjacent to the Library. The Library also had a long desk full of computers for Jedi to view the information contained in the datacards and to search for stuff.

Council Chamber[]

The Council Chamber was a circular, white-patterned room on the top of the Council Tower, one of the five towers of the Temple. It was only accessible throught a turboelevator on the last floor. It contained armchairs for the Council's members to sit and discuss important matters for the Order. It also had holoprojectors to project Council members and Jedi allies when they were not in the room.

Gradmaster's quarters[]

The Grandmaster's quarters were a small, yellow-patterned quarters that contained only a bed, a chair, a small desk and an also small fountain. It was where the incumbent Jedi Grandmaster lived when in the Temple. It was probably located on the last floor.

Balcony & Room[]

The last floor of the Temple contained a small balcony in which Jedi could look at the cityscape of Coruscant. This balcony was accessible throught a room on the last floor. It is unknown in which part of the Temple the balcony and the room were, although this room could be used for socialization.

Hospital Wing[]

This alley in the Temple was used for caretaking of injured Jedi. The wing had medicine and equipments to treat most diseases. It was located on the fourth floor. It was accessible throught a corridor, although it was not the main fourth floor corridor.

Vault[]

This room was used to keep the riches of the Jedi Order. It was at least two hundred meters long and wide, and was accessible throught a secret passage located in a small hall on the ground floor (first floor). It was beneath the Temple.

Defenses[]

The Temple was protected mainly by a Light Side power known as Wall of Light, a Force field that comprised all the Temple and prevented Dark Side users from entering it. Only very powerful Dark Siders such as Darth Sidious and Darth Plagueis could enter and remain in the Temple unaffected.
