Are you ready to become a citizen of the Confederate States and the Confederacy of Independent Systems? Very well, then it's you time took the oath, raise your right hand.
—A member of the Confederate States of Earth government, asking whether a potential citizen is ready to become a full citizen.

The Confederate Earth Oath of Allegiance was an Oath of Allegiance taken by new citizens of the Confederate States of Earth, in which they pledged their loyalty to the Confederacy, they also became a citizen of the Confederacy of Independent Systems when they became a citizen of Confederate Earth, however the CIS wasn't included in the Confederate-specific oaths. There were several different oaths of allegiance.

There were cases of rogue Confederate soldiers forcing Union civilians to take loyalty oaths, officially making said civilians Confederates, in order to steal money and other valuables from them and not be accused of thievery, since they could claim that the valuables were given as a "patriotic contribution", since the civilian(s) were officially Confederate(s) since they had taken an oath of allegiance to the Confederate States of Earth.

Forcing Union citizens to swear their allegiance to the Confederate States of Earth also took place during the Raid on Hilltown, which was a raid on a town just within Union-held territory by the Confederate States Army to avenge the Burning of Valley City.

Cases of forced oaths were noted during the Union City Conscription Riot in early 20 BBY, which was a large riot in the border city of Union City, Republic of Wekland, at that time still a member state of the Union, in opposition to the Union National Conscription Act, some rioters broke into the City Hall, where the city council as hiding, they raised a "James F. Davidson Flag", the flag of the pro-Confederate Wekland State Guards, above the hall, after which they forced the members of the council to pledge their allegiance to the Confederacy.

After this they declared Union City an independent City-state and member of the Confederacy, whilst not even the Confederate Parliament accepted this as a Declaration of Secession, it did give the Confederate leadership the impetus to begin planning to induct Wekland as a Confederate state, near the end of the war Wekland became the 95th, and final, Confederate state.

Within the Union nations during the war the very act of taking the Confederate oath of allegiance could land the person who took the oath in prison, for the Union considered the very act of taking the oath to be treason.

Confederate Earth oaths

Surely these people don't want to serve a tyrannical nation, a nation which heartlessly massacres innocent people, what say we make them Confederates? At gunpoint, if needs be, make them servants of President Zarkan! Make Confederates out of them!
