Rebellion era

Codric's Last Stand took place on Zorbia II when Owen Codric, a rookie soldier in the Alliance to Restore the Republic, fought to the death against the Galactic Empire. His fellow soldiers were all killed before firing a shot but Codric survived long enough to kill forty-nine Imperials and wounded several others.

Owen Codric's last stand[]

In 0 ABY, shortly after Rebel Group MT50 found a new base on a space station in the Zorbia system, the rookie Owen Codric was allowed to visit Zorbia II with five more experienced soldiers. While they were away their was an Imperial assault on the space station and Imperial Commander Zekeria Sedoru brought his stormtroopers and several Judas Corporation mercenaries commanded by Scral Eosedjon to the planet to search for Rebels. They learned from a pirate that the six Rebels had come to the planet on a brief leave and were camping in a forest. Attacking the Rebels, they killed five of them in a matter of seconds but the sixth one, Owen Codric, escaped into the forest. Over the next few hours he hunted and killed thiry-nine stormtroopers and nine Judas Corporation mercenaries and wounded several others. Then he found Commanders Sedoru and Eosedjon. With one well placed shot from his DH-17 blaster rifle, he killed the mercenary commander but his second shot, intended to kill the Imperial officer, only wounded him and Codric was gunned down by a Rodian mercenary.

Results[]

Commander Sedoru ordered Cordic's body to be preserved as a candidate clone template, along with a full report of the soldier's exploit against the stormtroopers and mercenaries. This saved him from being demoted after losing so many troops to a single individual and several Codric clones did appear in the Stormtrooper Corps a few years later. A Rebel slicer made a copy of the report and gave it to Alliance High Command which circulated the story of Codric's Last Stand as a propaganda tool, omitting the fact that he had become a candidate for cloning and rounding the number of his kills up to fifty.
