Old Republic era

The Cobbled Terentateks was the name of a criminal organisation that came to prominence on the industrial world of Voryle in 27 ATC during the Third Galactic War, becoming the rival of the Rabid Akks, the largest criminal group at the time. Led by a fallen Sith, the gang borrowed its name from the vicious and shadowy Terentatek, a near-mythical monster feared by Sith and Jedi alike.

Formed as a response to the growing influence of the Sith Empire on Voryle, the gang was the brainchild of the Vorylian Countess Patrice LaLenna, with the former Sith assassin Isla Ahnkett leading the organisation, ostensibly on behalf of the Republic Strategic Information Service.

In reality, Sophia Sofora and Carth Waverunner were chosen to lead the initiative, but when they were held up elsewhere LaLenna mistook an injured Isla and her companion Zhavi Waverunner for SIS operatives. Isla did not correct the Countess' mistake to deceive her into covering her medical expenses, having arrived on Voryle in the aftermath of an ill-fated duel on Dxun, in which she was subjected to a life-changing mou kei manoeuvre that severed all four of her limbs.

The gang was involved in a variety of criminal activities, including but not limited to: theft, assassination, protection rackets, spice, bribery and prostitution, though its members were generally held to a higher moral standard. One of the gang's first major operations was the liberation of a factory that made extensive use of child labour. Many members of the gang regarded themselves as a peacekeeping force in the historically cutthroat and lawless planet.

Directly under Isla, the day-to-day operations were led by three lieutenants sent by the SIS: Bibi Jotto, Yagogg and Bon-Yi, military, underworld and Force specialists, respectively. By working together and pooling their collective knowledge and experiences, the trio were able to rapidly expand the size of the gang, earn the respect of its members and the wider population and push through enemy territory at a steady pace.

Thanks to the activities of the Cobbled Terentateks, Prime Minister Namos D'callo was forcibly removed from office during an attempt to strong-arm his government into formally joining the Sith Empire, being killed shortly after in an assault on the local Magenta Sparrow Innovations embassy, from which his ally Lord Sera Artofen had been coordinating Imperial influence on the planet.

Although Isla left Voryle after Artofen's schemes were brought to an end, she was still regarded as leader of the group by its members. Her personal quarters on the gang's mobile headquarters were preserved for whenever she wished to return, and when she did she was always warmly received by the friends she had made during her service.

In practise, leadership was divided between the two surviving lieutenants, Yagogg and Bon-Yi, with Carth Waverunner serving as a liaison between the gang and the SIS, despite his official role as the Special Agent in charge of maintaining the operation after Isla's departure.

Over the decades that followed, the Cobbled Terentateks helped maintain the order they had brought to Voryle, engaging in criminal activity as they always had but ensuring the underworld was carefully controlled, preventing off-world syndicates or home-grown radicals from bringing serious crime to the neutral world.

By the time of the Clone Wars, Voryle had joined the Galactic Republic and evolved into a modern city world. While the influence of the Cobbled Terentateks remained in the spirit of the city and its people, the organisation itself was long gone and its name lost to history.
