The Clone Wars (22 BBY–11 BBY), also known as the Great Clone War, was the name given to the major galactic conflict fought between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The war was named after the clone troopers utilized by the Republic against the battle droid forces of the CIS. These armies were two of the largest ever pitted against each other in galactic history, and the fighting between them rapidly spread to countless inhabited worlds. Both sides scored significant victories over the other, and at different times during the war either seemed likely to triumph. The death of Count Dooku, Palpatine/Darth Sidious and Grievous led to a Republic victory. At the time, it was the largest galactic conflict to date.
History[]
Fisrt Year {22 BBY - 21 BBY}[]
First Battle of Geonosis[]
The First Battle of Geonosis was the first battle of the Clone Wars. The battle occurred after Separatist forces captured Obi-Wan Kenobi on Geonosis and charged him with spying for the Republic. Anakin Skywalker and Senator Padmé Amidala attempted to rescue Kenobi, but were also captured and sentenced to death. A Jedi strike team led by Mace Windu stormed the Petranaki arena, where the prisoners were to be killed. The ensuing battle resulted in the deaths of many Jedi.
The Jedi managed to hold their own for some time but were being beaten back by the outnumbering droid forces. As they prepared to fight to the end, the clone army, under Yoda's command, dropped from the sky in Republic gunships. Managing to rescue the Jedi from the arena, the clones engaged the droid army on the fields of Geonosis, in order to prevent their escape. However, the battle on the surface was not the only conflict. In the space battle, the clone pilots, led by Adi Gallia, took out valuable Trade Federation battleships.
Battle of Orto Plutonia[]
Some time during the war Jedi Master Lachan Thul and his Padawan Eekar Oki were sent to Orto Plutonia to ascertain why the Republic had lost contact with a clone outpost there. The Jedi and clones were accompanied by Chairman Chi Cho of Pantora and Senator Riyo Chuchi. With CC-1993, Lachlan found the Republic base to be devoid of life, all clones stationed there having been killed. Not long after they found a Separatist base to be likewise affected and found clues of a third party being involved in the demise of both forces. Lachlan and Eekar found out that the planet was inhabrited by the Talz.
Battle of Christophsis[]
First Battle of Ryloth[]
After Techno Union Foreman and Separatist Council member Wat Tambor seized control of Ryloth and its inhabitants, the Jedi Council devised a plan for Aayla and Mace Windu to lead a ground assault to invade and liberate the planet. Lachlan Secura and Eekar Oki were dispatched to destroy the Separatist blockade surrounding the planet and clear the way for the invasion forces, but their first attack failed horribly. During the attack, the Republic lost a cruiser and an entire squadron of fighters, and as a result Eekar was shaken from losing so many men on his first solo command mission. Aayla acknowledged Eekar's need for support and time to get over this ordeal, but told Lachlan that he would need her to succeed. Even with only half his forces remaining, Lachlan was given only one planetary rotation to destroy the blockade. He piloted the Defender into the lead control ship, forcing its commander, Captain Mar Tuuk, to flee, leaving only droids in charge of the blockade. Fortunately, with the support of a recovered Admiral Dannna, Eekar was able to lead a successful attack on the blockade.
When Aayla entered the system, she took Ghost Company and Fox Company in a detachment of gunships down to the surface while the transports prepared to land. However, proton cannons harassed the transports, preventing them from landing. Windu contacted Aayla, tasking her with destroying the guns. After landing, the group clashed with droids in a bunker and then entered the city of Nabat. Aayla sent CC-1001, Wooley and Waxer to scout ahead. The group split up, and CC-1001 and Wooley discovered that the Twi'leks were being held hostage, while Waxer stumbled across the young Twi'lek girl Numa and went with her to her home. Soon after, gutkurrs released by tactical droid commander TX-20 attacked the two clones and Numa, and they escaped via an underground passage. Meanwhile, the creatures attacked the rest of Ghost Company and Fox Company, but Aaylabi was able to lure them and trap them. Waxer then emerged out of the passage with Numa, and Aayla learned that she could lead them to the prisoners. While CC-1001 and his men created a diversion, Aayla went with Waxer and Woooley, and they were able to free the prisoners and destroy the proton cannons. However, TX-20 cornered Aayla and Numa with his tank, but the intervention of the now-freed Twi'leks saved them. The transports were able to land, and the Republic forces headed to the capital city of Lessu to retake it and free the planet.
Mace Windu took a detachment of AT-TEs to the capital, and they forged ahead along a cliffside path, although they encountered several AATs along the way. Wat Tambor refused Dooku's order to leave Lessu and escape, but his tactical droid TA-175 intended to follow orders. As Windu tried to free Ryloth, Tambor deployed a squadron of Hyena-class bombers to attack the nearby villages. After Captain Ponds reported this. Not long after he managed to get across Lessu's plasma bridge via a few treasure-hauling MTTs. Stak and Razor activated the bridge, which the droids had deactivated upon discovering them, while Pond crossed the bridge with their forces, Windu went to capture Tambor. Tambor prepared to escape on his shuttle, but an impatient TA-175 had already escaped and left Tambor stranded. After Tambor was cornered, the bombers approached the city on orders from Count Dooku, but the timely intervention of Lachlan and Eekar in their fighters saved them.
Battle of Hypori[]
The Battle of Hypori was the introduction of one the greatest threats to the Republic, General Grievous. Grievous led a massive army against the Jedi. By the end of the battle, the Separatists had won, several Jedi were dead, and only Shaak Ti, Ki-Adi Mundi, Aayla Secura, K'Kruhk, and a squad of ARC Troopers were the only survivors.

Battle on Christophsis[]
In 21 BBY, after the Jedi Council received a plea from the planet of Christophsis for help against the invading Separatists, Lachlan, Eekar and Ahsoka were dispatched to save the planet, along with Clone Commander's CC-1993 and CC-5555-556. However, after evidence was revealed that a traitor was giving inside information to the Separatists, Lachlan and Eekar left to secretly scout behind enemy lines, leaving CC-1993 and CC-5555-556 to find the traitor. Upon arriving at the Separatist base, they met and dueled Asajj Ventress. After she escaped, the two Jedi followed her and discovered an entire army amassing to march on the city. Returning to their base, they discovered that Sergeant Slick was the traitor, and he was taken to lockup. However, he had managed to sabotage most of their weapons, and forced to defend the planet against an entire Separatist army.
Lachlan and Eekar led Fox Company and Ghost Squadron with CC-1993 and CC-5555-556. They managed to defeat the first wave of droids, but their opponents soon returned. Eekar later thought of a plan to defeat the Separatist's. Eekar wiped out the tri-droids with CC-5555-556, and the cannons took out of the rest of the droid army. The Separatist army retreated under General Whorm Loathsom's order. Soon after this, CC-5555-556 and Ahsoka discovered that the Separatists had activated a deflector shield and the battle was reignited. While Eekar and Ahsoka set off to deactivate the shield, the clone troopers were outnumbered easily, and their cannons could not get through the shield, even at full power. Within minutes there were only a limited amount of clones left, and Lachlan was surrounded by Whorm and his battle droids. Oki and Tano were able to deactivate the shield and the battle became a Republic victory.

Skirmish over Rodia[]
Battle of Bothawui[]
The Jedi High Council received intelligence from Dexter Jettster that the Confederacy Fleet under the commanded of General Grievous was planning on invading the Plant. Two new Venator-class Star Destroyers from the Allanteen Six shipyards along with her flagship were to be sent to Bothawui under Jedi General Aayla Thul's command. Aayla arrived over the gas giant of Bothawui Prime before Grievous and learned of the defeat at Falleen from High Jedi General Lachlan Thul. Although outnumbered two-to-one in vessels, Aayla was intent on preventing Grievous from taking Bothawui. Aayla deployed AT-TE walkers under the command of Boil to the asteroid belt surrounding the planet. Once the Confederate fleet passed through the asteroids, Boil's squad would be able to outflank Grievous's frigates. The six Confederate frigates arrived in the system, and Grievous ordered his ships to navigate through the asteroid belt, believing that the asteroids would provide suitable protection from the Republic's laser fire.
Unaware that Aayla had deployed AT-TE walkers, the cyborg general ordered all of the power of the frigates to be diverted to the forward shields. Outgunned, all of the cruisers sustained damage, and one of the Republic vessels was crippled. The unsuspecting Confederate frigates passed by the walkers, and Boil and his men opened fire. As Grievous realized he had been outflanked, the walkers attacked the frigates' unprotected sterns. One of the Confederate vessels was destroyed and Aayla ordered the Republic fleet to commence fire at their adversaries. Realizing that he had been defeated, Grievous boarded his personal fighter and fled from his outmatched frigates. As the Republic cruisers targeted what remained of the Confederate fleet.

The day of battle dawned, and Commander Merai sent down his landing ships accompanied by a cloud of droid starfighters. Although numerous Jedi pilots battled above, they could not stop all of the droid forces from landing in Tipoca City, and dozens of fully loaded transports made it through. Jedi Master Shaak Ti and Kaminoan Prime Minister Lama Su worked to protect the fetal and adolescent stage clones from Separatist sabotage, and activated the city's stasis-locked ARC troopers. Under the leadership of Shaak Ti, the ARC troopers advanced through the enemy lines.
Commander Merai was forced to launch a desperate strike at the supposed location of the city's shield generator. However, the Jedi proved too wily for the Mon Calamari tactician; the data gathered by the Corporate Alliance was false—there was no shield generator—and Merai's efforts were in vain. In a last-ditch attack, Merai flew into the Jedi hyperspace rings lying in orbit to destroy them and thus buy his battleships time to retreat. He activated his self-destruct system, but the Jedi sensed this and were able to pull away from the explosion, which destroyed the rings.
