Clan Lok was an ancient Mandalorian clan with a long and proud history stretching as far back as the original Mandalorian Crusades. The Clan would ultimately be fragmented in 3636 BBY during the conquests of the Eternal Empire. Many surviving members of Clan Lok came to follow Mirli Lok and form the Ash'ad, a faction that rejected the rule of Mandalore the Avenger. Another survivor of the old Clan Lok, Raiden Lok, refounded the clan with a new generation drawn from the ranks of the Eternal Alliance. Raiden's renewed Clan Lok remained loyal to Mandalore the Avenger.

The years after the Eternal Empire's fall were tough for Clan Lok as it was divided in an internal civil war. By 3600 BBY, the followers of Raiden prevailed over the followers of Mirli and the Ash'ad, wiping out their treacherous kin.

Many members of the refounded Clan Lok operated as Mercenaries and Bounty Hunters. This practice first began with the Clan's (re)founder, Raiden, who first worked as a Bounty Hunter before joining the Mandalorians.

History[]

Reformation[]

The original Clan Lok was an ancient clan that found itself fragmented and leaderless in the wake of the Eternal Empire's conquest of the Galaxy. Many surviving clan members rallied behind Mirli Lok and formed the Ash'ad, a faction that rejected the rule of the New Manda'lor.

A new generation of Clan Lok, one loyal to Mandalore the Avenger, was founded by Raiden Lok, a survivor of the original Clan Lok. The members of the new generation were drawn from soldiers of the Eternal Alliance who were loyal to Raiden.

Old Republic Era[]

Shortly after the Raid on Darvannis, Raiden and his new generation of Clan would come to learn of surviving members of the old Clan Lok (who were now calling themselves the Ash'ad). Raiden traveled to Onderon to meet with Mirli Lok but was almost immediately turned away. Raiden would once again return to Onderon to challenge Mirli in a duel over the control of Clan Lok. Although Raiden eventually won and many of the Ash'ad would join the new Clan Lok, many more refused to acknowledge Raiden's victory and fled into the jungle. Under the orders of Mandalore the Avenger, Clan Lok was tasked with hunting down the remnants of rhe Ash'ad. Clan Lok eventually prevailed over the Ash'ad and executed the traitors, thus sending a message to the other Clans that Mandalore the Avenger would not tolerate betrayal.

Sometime during or after the Third Great Galactic War, Clan Lok would "abandon" Odessen and settle on Mandalore and other Mandalorian-occupied planets.

Following the Mandalorian Excision of 738 BBY, the majority of Clan Lok (apart from a handful of individuals) joined the Aka'liit. During the schism within the Aka'liit and subsequent Mandalorian Civil War, Clan Lok remained officially neutral but many members would go on off to join the Death Watch or the True Mandalorians. Those of Clan Lok that joined the True Mandalorian would all be wiped out by the time of the Battle of Galidraan in 44 BBY.

Clan Lok later fought during the Great Clan Wars and was left destitute in the aftermath. It was around this time that the pro-Death Watch elements of Clan Lok were exiled to Mandalore's moon of Concordia. Most members of Clan Lok that remained on Mandalore were considered a part of the Old Mandalorian Faction. Some time later, a sizeable group of Clan Lok departed Mandalore to seek fame and fortune, operating as elite mercenaries or bounty hunters and working for the highest bidder. Many of those members of Clan Lok that left Mandalore established a base for themselves on the planet Gargon, alongside other Old Mandalorians.

Clone Wars[]

Members of Clan Lok were still operating from Gargon during the outbreak of the Clone Wars. Some of its members were hired by the Confederacy of Independent Systems to fight against the forces of the Republic.

Following the Battle of Sundari in 20 BBY and the rise of the Mandalorian Protectors under Spar, those members of Clan Lok that remained on Mandalore joined with Spar's army. A few of Clan Lok's expats returned to Mandalore while others remained at large in the galaxy.

Age of the Empire[]

After the end of the Clone Wars and the rise of the Galactic Empire, Clan Lok was forced to accept the Imperial rule of Mandalore. Clan Lok was largely split during the Galactic Civil War. Some joined the Imperial Academy on Mandalore and others joined the Rebel Alliance, but most continued to serve as mercenaries and bounty hunters. Many members of Clan Lok that operated as mercenaries found themselves employed by both factions at some point or another.

Two notable member of Clan Lok active during the Galactic Civil War were Konor Lok and his protégé, Joto Lok. Joto was perhaps best known for serving the Empire as a high-paid mercenary. Konor also often worked for the Empire, albeit far less so compared to his young student.
