Cho mai was one of the nine marks of contact in lightsaber combat, and was used to refer to cutting off an opponent's weapon hand. Beings normally wielded lightsabers with two hands; cho mai referred to removing the dominant hand. Theoretically, used against a Jar'Kai stylist, removing either hand would be cho mai.

Notable uses[]

In the midst of the Battle for the Betrayer's Heart in 1,388 BBY, Narasi Rican cut off the hand of a slaver who was using it to strike slaves with a shock whip.[2]
