The Chain of Tongues was a Force-imbued Sith artifact that took the form of a bronzium livery collar decorated with runes and inscriptions in a multiplicity of languages. This artifact, when worn, permitted the user to understand and speak in the languages of those within the immediate vicinity, though knowledge of such languages was temporary and faded upon the artifact's removal or the departure of the native speakers from the area. The Chain of Tongues was believed to have originated as an attempted reproduction of the Sith Abattar,[1] an artifact of similar powers first studied by Jen'jidai Sorzus Syn in 6900 BBY.[2]
