The CY-440 artillery cruiser was a warship developed by Cybe Drives as part of the CY series. The CY-440 artillery cruiser was fitted predominantly with CA-1783 artillery emplacements. It was also armed with the shorter-range CA-1013 cannons and CA-1203 cannons for protection nearby.

The CY-440 artillery cruiser was remarkably similar to the Vengeance-class Star Destroyer, often being described as the same but much with a much larger platform. The CY-440 also lacked an obvious bridge. This was instead a dome placed to the centre-back of the ship. It was heavily armed with long-range weaponry and for protection short-range weaponry as well. Unlike the much smaller Vengeance-class, it did not have any hangars. It was instead outfitted with small ports for access to the ship. Some variants within the Federation of Free Planets Navy have been modified however to have an hangar.
History[]
The CY-440 was one of the newest inventions of Cybe Drives, being presented to the known galaxy no earlier than 146 ABY. While it was not revolutionary, the ship was armed with a couple dozen of artillery weaponry, something which was not at all used during the war before that. Following its first appearance, Cybe Drives' main competitor, Xelosian Conglomerate Enterprises, started production on an artillery ship of their own.
