Commander-in-Chief of the Galactic Empire Special Operations Command, abbreviated CINCSOCOM, was a title of the Imperial Military created during the Legacy era by the order of Galactic Emperor Roan Fel in 98 ABY, referring to the senior commanding officer of the Galactic Empire Special Operations Command. The Commander-in-Chief, by the Imperial Military Code, held the double title of Grand Admiral (the highest rank of the Imperial Military) and as a Moff of the Council of Moffs (the highest governmental title of the Galactic Empire, save for Galactic Emperor).
The position was one of great prestige, and also one of substantial notoriety, for with it, it carried all the infamy that the Special Operations Command acquired through its clandestine operations, which were often illegal in nature.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Special Operations Command is expected to have a close working relationship with the Director of Imperial Intelligence, reflecting the close kinship and the shared interests of the Special Operations Command and Imperial Intelligence.
