CC-4477, better known as Thire, was a clone trooper lieutenant and later a commander who served the Galactic Republic in the Grand Army of the Republic unit, Coruscant Guard, during the Clone Wars and later in the Corsucant Guard, but this time in the Imperial Army of the Galactic Empire. He served along with CC-1010, or Fox, in the CG in the Republic and after the Galactic Alliance, because Galactic Emperor Palpatine extended the lives of the clones of the CG, and 52nd Star Corps after Fox saved the Emperor's life. After the Empire fell, Thire served the New Republic, along with Fox and CC-2009, better known as Typhuss. After the fall of the New Republic and the rise of the Galactic Alliance, the Coruscant Guard and the 52nd served them, intel the New Jedi Order managed to regain control of the galaxy, and during their take back of Coruscant, the CG, 52nd, and the CSF betrayed the Galactic Alliance and helped them take back the planet, and the rest of the Deep Core worlds.
Biography[]
Clone Wars[]
Thire was born on the planet Centax 2, where most Coruscant Guard members were born. He also got his training there, and later got his training on Coruscant also. He and CC-1010, Commander Fox, became good friends, and he also got to know CC-2009, also known as Typhuss. 4477 had only been on a few missions with 2009.
Thire didn't like the Confederacy of Independent Systems like all clones, but he hated them even more after Centax 2 was attacked by terrorists, who, it turned out later, were payed by the CIS to attack. They destroyed several cloning facilities in the process, including the one where Thire was cloned. He went on some more missions after that.
Mission to Rugosa[]
In 22 BBY, early in the war, Thire, serving as a lieutenant in the Coruscant Guard, was assigned, alongside troopers Jek and Rys, to escort Jedi Master Yoda during a diplomatic mission to Rugosa to meet with the neutral king of Toydaria, Katuunko. When their Consular-class frigate was ambushed by two Separatist Munificent-class star frigates, Yoda and the three troopers escaped the transport while it fled and made their way to the moon's surface in an escape pod. Arriving in the moon's thick coral jungle, CC-4477 patched into the King's communication system, allowing Yoda to speak to Katuunko through a holotransmission. The King was pleased to see that the Jedi Master was not frightened away by Count Dooku. Yoda became aware of Asajj Ventress' presence, as the Dark Acolyte proposed a contest to demonstrate which side was superior. Ventress would dispatch her forces to capture Yoda, and if he defeated them, the Toydarians would join the Republic, however if the droid forces defeated Yoda, the King should consider joining the Confederacy.
Agreeing to the challenge, Yoda and the clones made their way into the dense coral forest. In pursuit was a column of Confederate forces led by 224 in his Armored Assault Tanks. However, the droids were forced to continue on foot after the tanks were unable to get through due to the dense foliage. Thire, Rys, and Jek split from Master Yoda to use their surroundings. The clones took cover and engaged a squad of B1 battle droids from the south and defeated them, but B2 super battle droids soon followed, and the three were forced to flee. During their escape Thire was hit by a rocket launched by a B2-HA series super battle droid. With Thire injured and pinned behind a rock with Rys and Jek, the clones prepared to make a final stand, but Yoda came to their aid using the Force to turn around the B2 battle droid and destroy the rest of its squad. The small victory was short lived as Droidekas soon appeared which caused the Republic forces to flee. Yoda clung onto CC-4477's back and deflected the lasers at a nearby tall formation of land coral, causing the droids to be crushed, and the four escaped to a cave to rest.
Lieutenant Thire and the other clones learned that they were low on ammunition and their morale ran low, but the Jedi Master imparted his wisdom on the clone troopers, telling Thire to have patience, rather than rush headlong into battle. Their quiet contemplation on Yoda's words was interrupted by the sound of the droids approaching. Venturing out of the cave the four looked down on the droid column. Yoda ordered the clones to stay on the ridge and said that he would go in alone, stating that they will know when to help him. Thire and his men looked on as Yoda single-handedly took out the droid column. However the clones spotted droidekas approaching an unaware Yoda. Just as the last AAT was destroyed, the droidekas fired upon Yoda. While Yoda was deflecting laser blasts, Thire fired one of the squad's remaining rockets into an overhanging cliff, causing an avalanche to crash down on the droideka reinforcements, saving Yoda. With Ventress' forces defeated the group headed back to the rendezvous to meet with Katuunko.
Promotion[]
Following his graduation from the ARC program and a promotion to Commander, Thire was placed in charge of the Coruscant Guard.
Together with Republic Intelligence Director Armand Isard, the two founded Homeworld Security Command in an effort to centralize and streamline the defense of Coruscant should an attack ever come. A part of Thire, however, always felt as though the Republic would never be able to muster a reliable defense of Coruscant.
Battle of Coruscant[]
Thire's worst fears were realized when General Grievous launched a surprise attack on the capital in the early hours of the morning. Thire's men, in conjunction with Commander Appo's 501st Legion, did their best to keep the Confederacy's droid forces from taking the Senate District. While they were able to halt the Separatist advance, they were powerless to stop the abduction of the Chancellor by Grievous and his Magnaguards.
Order 66[]
Thire was later at the Jedi Temple, guarding the landing pad and helping the Temple's caretakers prepare the gunships, when Order 66 came through. He shot down the Jedi, alongside the troopers who were with him. They were told to hold out until the 501st Legion arrived, but Thire was the only one alive when they came. He did not participate in Operation: Knightfall. After an epic battle in the Senate Rotunda between Emperor Palpatine and Jedi Master Yoda, the Emperor tasked Commander Thire and his men to scour the bowels of the Senate, looking for any sign of the diminutive Jedi, ironically forcing Thire to hunt down the very Jedi Master who saved his life on the Coral moon. Although Thire's increased efforts to find Yoda had failed, the Emperor was far more concerned with the status of his newest apprentice, whom he sensed was in grave danger. Thus, Thire, Typhuss, Rys, Jek and his shock troopers accompanied Palpatine to Mustafar, where they brought the medical capsule to the gravely injured Anakin Skywalker, now Darth Vader.
Imperial service[]
Thire served as one of Palpatine's personal guards on Coruscant and during off-world trips. As the Empire's noose around the galaxy tightened, Thire saw his shock troopers transformed into the foundation of the Imperial era Coruscant Guard, which was tasked with the security of the Imperial capital.
Galactic Civil War[]
As the Republic turned in to the new, and according to Thire, much better Galactic Empire, the criminal rates on the planet began to rise as secret groups, such as the Erased popped up all over Coruscant. Most of them were wiped out, except several members of the Erased in Thugger's Alley survived. Many Imperials, who were clone stormtroopers, were killed during the mission. Thire and the clone stormtroopers kept the clone armor instead of the stormtrooper ones.
A few years later, the Alliance to Restore the Republic attacked Coruscant. Although the raid was unsuccessful, the Emperor still had extra precautions when he had a celebration party. Fox found out that some of the food was contaminated and saved the Emperor's life, so the clone troopers got their lives extended. Thire and his troops also found a nest of Jedi, and took them out.
New Republic service[]
After the fall of the Empire at Endor, Thire and the rest of the CG tried to calm everyone down, the crowd attacked and killed two troopers. Fox thought that they should stun the crowds, but Thire and some other clones and stormtroopers already took out half of the crowd. As the New Republic captured Coruscant, Jar Jar Binks led the CG, but later had them surrender. Thire and Fox and the CG, along with the 52nd and the 23rd worked under the New Republic.
Galactic Alliance and beyond[]
In the weeks following the New Republic's invasion of Coruscant, the Galactic Alliance overthrew the New Republic and became the sole governing body of the Galaxy. Thire, along with Fox, Stone, Typhuss, and Lock, had to serve the Galactic Alliance military. Soon, the Jedi overthrew the Galactic Alliance and became the next sole government, and later started the Confederation of Free Planets, which Thire and the rest of the clones worked under and became part of the military. They each got assigned a Jedi general to work under.
Armor and other Equipment[]
Thire's red/brown armor had some CG symbols and emblems, as well as other designs. It was standard clone trooper commander armor but with extra designs. Thire wore both Phase I armor and Phase II armor. CC-4477 used a variety of weapons, including a DC 15A blaster rifle, dual commando blaster pistols, and several thermal detonators. Thire had a utility belt that included things such as a medpack, a comlink, and several water purifiers and clone trooper rations . Also some extra thermal detonators. Thire used micro binoculars that helped him see in the dark, and they also made him be able to see long distances.
