Colonel Jade look!! Dred Base!! It's been overrun by Naboo soldiers!!
—CC-1029 upon spotting the Dred Forest Base[src]

CC-1029, nicknamed Res, was a stormtrooper commander who operated during the days of the Galactic Empire. Res was once assigned to work with Mara Jade, an Imperial Colonel, and secretly one of the Emperor's Hands, a group of force-sensitive special agents who were to do the personal bidding of Emperor Palpatine. Together, they traveled to Naboo to end a planetary rebellion comprised of the combined forces of the Royal Naboo Security Forces and the citizen soldiers of the Gungan Boss Knarl. Res was later betrayed by a former ally named Rilx Zarr, and was injured by the traitor's blaster gun. After Zarr was neutralized by Jade, she was able to cripple the rebels without the aid of Res who was sent to a medical center to recover.

Biography[]

A clone from the Clone Wars from an unknown template, CC-1029 eventually received the nickname of Res, and had his career bleed into the time of the Galactic Empire. Having been grown and trained as a commander, Res kept the rank during his service to the Empire, and continued to command troops. During 0 BBY Res was tasked with aiding a high-ranking Imperial by the name of Mara Jade to pacify rebels on Naboo, led by the Gungan Boss named Knarl. One of their first tasks once on Naboo was to recapture an Imperial outpost known as Dred Base. The base had been overrun by the Naboo security forces led by Rutha Yunns. Unable to find the base themselves, they relied on a Trandoshan information broker named Rilx Zarr to lead them to the base, per Zarr's own offer. They discovered the base and quickly eradicated Yunns and his men, retaking the base and putting it to work. After securing reinforcements, they continued the fight.

The rest of the security personal were found and killed, and the Imperials set their sights on a nearby Gungan outpost. With the help of their reinforcements, Res and Jade defeated the Gungan defenders before breaking into the outpost, destroying command structures and troop training facilities. It wasn't long before the Gungans were eradicated completely. As the Imperials discussed their next move, Zarr revealed that he was really working for the resistance, and attempted to kill both Res and Jade. He managed to injure Res before Jade fatally wounded the Trandoshan. Zarr mentioned an upcoming attack on the currently Imperial held Nova Base before he died. Res was unable to continue, however, and was sent back to a medical facility on Coruscant to recover from his wound.

Equipment[]

Unlike many stormtroopers, Res wore armor customized with yellow stripes and marking on the legs and helmet. He also wore an orange shoulder pauldron to denote his rank. His primary weapon was an Imperial heavy blaster which he used extensively while on Naboo. While he isn't trained to use one, Res also carried a lightsaber.

Res death

Res was one of the author's primary fan characters when he was first conceived on February 12, 2009. Res was originally given an extensive background that placed the character in events from both the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War. His appearances were primarily based on images of Clone Commander Bly from various media sources. However, after a rewrite that curbed most of the trooper's history, his only depictions were that of a Hvy Trooper unit in the video game Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds and as a user-created multiplayer addon character for the video game Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast.

Originally, Res was going to be killed in the author's fanon by an unknown Ithorian Jedi. At the time of the conception, all that was processed of that story was a rough sketch of the event. The image also details another older piece of the author's fanon known as the E12 blaster rifle.
