C'niki Fereenil was a female Arkanian Offshoot Jedi Knight of the New Sith Wars.

Biography[]

Training to Knighthood in the Jedi Order, she fought repeatedly in campaigns against the Sith, but grew disillusioned with what she felt was the Jedi High Council's missteps in prosecuting the war. Sometime after Jedi Battlemaster Argus Z'dar absconded from the Order and assumed leadership of the Crusaders, C'niki defected to his cause.

C'niki fit well among the Crusaders—despite some ambivalence about Z'dar's increasingly brutal tactics, she believed they were needed to win the war, and found herself among kindred spirits. She developed friendships with many of her new colleagues, including Manaela Wepwoigho and Kinnaki Getroc. She was attracted to Jylo Naki, but though he was unresponsive to her advances, they remained close colleagues.

C'niki remained loyal to Z'dar even after he destroyed Deep Storage Facility 214-Peth and Bogg 14, though her reservations grew. She also hoped that executing Darth Alecto would finally help Jylo move on from Rhosa Xei. Before he could find out, however, Tirien Kal-Di killed Jylo and freed Alecto. The two faced off together against Z'dar, C'niki, and D'Natragan, where both Jedi and Sith accused Z'dar of monumental evil in his nuclear attacks. Tirien offered C'niki and D'Natragan the chance to leave the coming duel, but C'niki declined—she accepted Tirien's criticism, but believed supporting him after he had killed Jylo and Kinnaki and allied with Alecto could not be right.

In the ensuing duel, the three Crusaders fought Tirien and Alecto to a standstill, but when Tirien and Alecto forged a Force bond, it turned the tide in their favor. C'niki dueled on after Alecto killed D'Natragan, but when she missed a cut at Alecto, Tirien stabbed her through the chin and brain stem, killing her instantly.

Powers and abilities[]

C'niki was a Form II stylist, and Darth Alecto considered her an adept duelist, though not as skillful as Tirien Kal-Di. Jylo Naki also thought her a skillful swordsbeing, but less so than himself, though this was never tested.

Appearance and personality[]

C'niki had snowy white skin and pure white hair, like all Arkanian Offshoots, as well as blue eyes which stood out against her skin. Even as a Crusader, she usually wore Jedi khakis, and carried a blue-bladed lightsaber.

C'niki could be serious and focused when needed, and was able to remain stoic and disciplined in the midst of emotional turmoil, though Tirien's graphic description of the deaths of children on Bogg 14 brought her to tears. In her off time, however, she had a playful nature and a knack for breaking up the grimness of battle with humor. Though she stood by Z'dar despite his crimes, she never murdered innocents herself, and showed genuine regret over what Z'dar had done and commitment to changing course, had she survived Malachor.

Behind the scenes[]

For absolutely no reason which he can remember or justify, Sakaros had Kenickie Murdoch from Grease in mind, and named C'niki for him. The similarity between her name and that of Kinnaki Getroc was unintentional (Kinnaki having been named years earlier in Grim Tidings); Sakaros briefly considered a joke after Kinnaki's death that at least no one would mix them up again, but found no stretch of authorial license could fit it naturally into the extremely somber scene.
