—The Butcher[src]

The Butcher was a figure referenced in the Ballad of the Butcher. According to the ballad, the Butcher was a warrior who assisted the Cathar in fighting back against their adversaries.[1]

Biography[]

At some point in galactic history, Cathar was beset by a group of metal-clad warriors, speculated to be Mandalorians. A male knight, who would become the "Butcher", joined the fight after the Cathar were turned away by the former's Order. He came with other warriors, and was said to be wielding an "azure sun". The Butcher and his host defeated many enemy combatants, and during the fight the Butcher claimed a fallen mask. His name was given in recognition of his feats and the fear of his enemies.[1]

Discovered artifacts[]

Around 82 BBY, the Coruscanti Exploratory Division were on Cathar searching for archeological discoveries. The Adminstrator of Archeology, Tytha Hexi, discovered the story of the Butcher through the ballad of the same name, as retold by Elders in the villages outside Cathar's major cities. In her dossier to the Supreme Chancellor, she speculated that the Butcher was a Jedi Knight who fought alongside the indigenous people. The presence of forged beskar in the soil they sampled seemed to add validity to her speculation.[1]
