The Brothers of the Sith was a group of Dark Jedi. Though they were not truly Sith, each member took the Sith name of “Darth”. The group was founded in 5 ABY by a Jedi exile known as Kvol Tchko. Before the fall of the Jedi Order, Kvol was part of a small Jedi organization that sought out ancient relics to bring back to the Jedi Temple. However, after wandering the galaxy alone for years, he become disillusioned with the Jedi practices.
On Vjun, Kvol found an ancient Sith chalice that contained the spirit of Darth Vairāgya. Vairāgya possessed Kvol and searched his mind to find the memory of a Star Map. When Kvol had first found it, he did not think it was important, though Vairāgya knew that it was and also knew where it led. The Sith Lord took control of Kvol and began to assemble a group of Dark Jedi to follow the Star Map’s path.
Vairāgya quickly began to manipulate the remnants of the Grave Tusken group and had formed them into his own private army. Later, Vairāgya found Ghormass Njuv, a Jedi Watchman on the moon of Sulon. Like Kvol, Njuv had become disillusioned with the Jedi arts. Vairāgya offered Njuv a place in his forces and promised him a chance to gain unimaginable power. Njuv agreed and Vairāgya dubbed him Darth Zarar.
When Njuv had been a Jedi, he had encountered a Defel mercenary who specialized in assassination. He was also Force-sensitive, so Vairāgya believed that he could become a useful ally. Vairāgya and Njuv traveled to Nar Shaddaa and located the Wraith. He was easily persuaded to join and, when he officially did join, Vairāgya dubbed him Darth Vijand. Vairāgya then presented Vijand with a Sith Lightwhip he had found during his travels.
Following another of Zanar’s leads, they sought out a dim-witted Human gladiator named Grvorgo who also lived on Nar Shaddaa. Grvorgo used the Force while pit-fighting, thereby making him an underworld hero. However, he was disqualified from most competitions which rendered him homeless. The group found him and manipulated him into joining them. He was then dubbed Darth Ruw and encased in a suit of Dark Trooper Armor, as he did not have the lightsaber skills to properly defend himself.
